...of nerds being utterly embarrassing.
I refuse to post in this thread, because I don't want to get banned again. But here's what I have to say: I just love how some people are jumping all over the OP's case for committing the tremendous faux pas of being female on the Internet.
Yes, I've seen some ridiculous attention harlotry online. And yes, some of it has been of the "guild princess" (to use WoW terminology) variety. But the argument here seems to be not only that all attention harlotry is a result of guild princesses, but that every female gamer is a guild princess. Even if they didn't know said gamer was female until she turned on her mic.
And to tell the truth? Maybe it's just me, but a lot of the behavior chronicled (for example) here reeks of attention harlotry itself. Especially the fucking kitchen jokes. And dear non-faith-specific God, the hate-mail page.
