First off: R.I.P. Dave Arneson, the unsung co-creator of Dungeons & Dragons.

And on a happier note:  My story is almost to the minimum length.  I'm still working and re-working parts of it, but I think it may just be at a satisfactory level of completion by the contest deadline.
