Horrible, Rotten, No Good, Very Bad Day.

Aside from the bigots managing to push their agenda through in the state election...

I had the Wrath of the Lich King Collector's Edition pre-ordered until today.  Then I found out that Amazon had a better deal than the evil corporate empire out of the Twisting Nether WalMart.

BUT...I was dumb...and, thinking that the item being in my "shopping cart" meant that it was basically a done deal, I canceled the Wal-Mart order first instead of putting the Amazon order through.  By the time I got through with trying to send the Amazon order off, they'd sold out again.

Feeling rather like the dog that tried to steal a bone from his reflection, I ranted about it.  And...let's just say that some people seem to have the following philosophy:  If you see someone kicking herself, join in.

My stupid computer is giving Windows authenticity errors.  I called up Microsoft and tried to get some answers.  The software is perfectly authentic; it's just that the repair guy's license was expired.  Nonetheless, they're refusing to do anything about it unless I essentially buy another copy of Windows...admittedly at a discount, but it's still bogus as hell, as far as I'm concerned.

WoW has been consistently laggy.

The boy got his courier bag-and the books in it-stolen.  Some of them will be difficult to replace.  He's been almost insufferably grumpy ever since.

And this is off the subject...but whoever had the smart idea to class Graham Masterton as a "horror" writer should get a boot to the head.  His books are about as scary-a requisite trait for the genre-as a Troma film.  (Well...there are probably people who think Troma films are scary...but probably not for the right reasons.)

In fact...in my not-so-humble opinion, a Masterton novel and a Troma film have more than that in common.

rant, world of warcraft, dammit!, snafu
