Addendum
Job offer extended from one of the local companies. Have accepted it -- the Boston job's not likely to come through with an offer soon, and next week being a holiday week kinda tied my hands further. Decent pay considering my experience (a nice hike up from my last job, more in line with the average Maine IT salary). Easily commutable, though like I said, still probably going to find a nicer place to live in the area.
All this dependent on whether yesterday's interview comes through with an offer, but for now I'm going ahead with the ME job. If Boston comes through with a knock-dead salary though...
Re: OGC: If things stay as is in Maine, it's down to whether I can get the time off and how much I manage to scrape together. It being local, not going to be blowing through gas like crazy, but next month is car inspection and renewal, and just about anything can happen there. Friday is dependent on getting that day off; it not, I should be able to make the 8PM slot. Not much going on Sunday, so I'm not sure if I'll be at the after-con party or if I'll head out early to avoid having to take Monday off and pay for another night in the hotel. I'll have some time off I can use, but not a heck of a lot and if anyone else in the group has that time off or there's something I need to get involved with, I might not be able to take it.
