Random stuff
1. As I was walking down Commercial today I passed two big burly biker-looking guys and over heard one say to the other: "If this weather keeps up, I'm going to have to pull out my tuque." This guy was not someone I would have ever pictured wearing a tuque. A bandana with a skull on it or something, but not a tuque. It made me smile. I'm sure there's some old saying about a book and a cover that applies here....
2. I was smoking on the UBC campus today and some slightly hyper-active guy came up to bum a cigarette. Turns out, he was jittery from having just done a BBC interview and from having spoken to Gordon Brown. Why? Because he's the guy who started the facebook group in support of the monks' protests in Burma that went from 0 - 100,000 members in 9 days. I just joined that group a few days ago so I thought this was a happy coincidence. Next Saturday is the global day of solidarity so check your local listings for an event near you.
3. Still have not found a job that feels like a fit yet. I wish I could find my place.
