:: I *heart* B.S Johnson! ::

It's been a long time since I've fallen head over heels for a writer! If only his books were more accessible!

"Typographical eccentricities are also present in the novel [Albert Angelo]: a hole between pages 149 and 152 of the original British edition to enable Albert to foresee his own death, Marlowe-like, in a brawl."

"In Christie Malry's Own Double-Entry Johnson says: 'I shall now attempt a little dialogue between Christie and the office supervisor, as if it had happened"; Christie, in the ensuing scene, tells the office supervisor that there is not much time to arrange his mother's funeral because "It's a short novel."

-- and in House Mother Normal he has the narrative drift off into a series of blank pages because his narrator has gotten bored with his own story and and dozed off!
