Last week John and I ended up at Petco, and of course I made a beeline for the bird section. I fell in love with a green-cheeked conure, whose price was unfortunately jacked up, like everything else in Petco. After pouting for a day about not being able to buy the bird, I did some searching online and found a breeder located about 2 1/2 hours away, up by Grand Rapids/Muskegon. On Monday, my beautiful Chica, a yellow-sided green cheeked-conure, came home with me. Like a proud mommy, I’m sitting here watching her hold seeds in her foot as she munches, and she’s climbing around her cage to get a drinky in clumsy baby bird fashion. She’s still a bit shy and getting used to her new home, but she learned to step up to my hand super fast. Not only did I find Chica at a lower price than Petco, but I bought the bird, cage, food, toys, etc. all total for less than the price of the Petco bird alone.
In other happenings, I decided to get my eyebrow pierced a few weeks ago. It was a spur of the moment decision; I was reimbursed some money from work, and I decided that day that I would go back to
Pangea Piercing and get my eyebrow (re)pierced. At first I thought it was a bit too big, as the jewelry is bigger than what I had originally, but it has grown on me and I am really glad I got it done.
