Um...I don't think this was always here.
I thought I went into the hallway...?
Huh.

Um, hey. Any chance you could...tell me where we are?
[ Sheepish grin. It's....well, sheepish. ]

Good evening, young man. ♥ I'm afraid I can't tell you where we are as I am not certain myself. But it seems I should clean out the back of my closest more regularly.
Care to guess a path? Left or right.
Reply
I never clean out my closet.
[ He laughs, more than a little aware how he actually hasn't cleaned his room much less his closet in more than a year. Okay well, that's actually...weird. Shaking his head, he looks at the stranger. ]
I guess right? I mean, I can always just backtrack...
[ ...one would think, anyway. ]
What about you?

[The Earl turns downs the right path walking is if on an evening stroll through a garden rather than a closet maze. As the go farther in black and white photographs litter the floor, but they are too faded to make out what exactly used to be on them.]
About me? I am a new resident upon these lands, and I'm afraid I found this on my first round of winter cleaning. ♥

[ The keyblade wielder grins, enjoying this perceived kindred of Optimistic Thought as they find/lose their way farther through the maze.
At the Earl's reply, Sora's expression goes the way of slightly apologetic; it's not his fault, but hey, sympathies abound because even without a weird City curse many was the time Sora remembers getting lost in his own closet.
One shouldn't read into that too much. Ahem. ]
That's tough, but, at least you're not alone? Two heads are better than one, and everything.
[ ...well hydras excepting... ]

I see you have spent more time here than I. Tell me, have you found a familiar face or two of your own here? ♥
[He doesn't walk very fast, really, it is more of a waddle than anything. But the wood beneath their feet change in color, turning from brown to blue as they continue down the path. But so far there are no red eyes or biting jaws in their path. Or hydras to be sure.]
But perhaps this adventure will teach us to inspect the real estate with a bit more critical eye.

[ A shrug, a slighter but still genuine smile. ]
I have some friends. And I've made some new ones too. It'll be the same for you, I mean, depending on how long you're here - well not here but you know, the City.
[ He blinks at the floor, momentarily fixated but not enough luckily to bump into the wall - lest it grow those teeth on a whim - and then looks over at the Earl again, adapting his own energetic stride accordingly. ]
Critical? What do you think we should be looking for?

[His grin is wide as it always is. Quite the trick to not speak without opening one's mouth.]
Blueprints first of all, but perhaps just reading up on the old history of the place. The past does usually tend to shed light on the future if one reads it correctly.

People come and go all the time. I think it's kind of random, actually.
[ He says, because so far Sora hasn't seen a pattern for himself though if the Earl was to ask around elsewhere he'd likely get a different story because there are certain patterns worth noting. Sora just hasn't pinned them down himself.
Blueprints? He blinks. ]
Well...I mean, the layout right? I don't know. I doubt we'll find them just lying around.
[ Though those photographs underfoot seem to be nearly shifting themselves, both inside and on the surface level, which is...strange. Like fish under water. ]

[Take a good look and they might be people living in the City past and present in the images. They might smile or wave at the pair before disappearing to another form.]
Is there a library here? It might hold the secrets. But until then we'll have to go by memory. How does yours fare?
Reply
A wh-- Oh library? Definitely. It's...well I could show you once we get out of here. Um...
[ He pauses mid-stride. ]
My what? My memory?
Reply
[He stops his waddle walk in case there is an object that needs to be pointed out.]
There is no hurry, but I would enjoy to see the place once we finished exploring our little, mysterious hallway.
How well do you remember things?
