so, my post about the first 2 tapes gave me an idea. i'm going to start putting links to songs i remember from waaaay back... if i can find them on youtube that is. i have a feeling the first few will only be appreciated by russ. anywho, let's get it poppin'.

first things first. a tribute to my heros....
michael" boogaloo shrimp" chambers. this was my idol growing up. i told my friends to call me turbo, and even asked my mom if i could change my name to michael... damn i was cool:

every move you see in this clip you could have found me locked in my room trying over and over again. i got some serious carpet burn on my knee trying one of 'em.

other idol... tommy guerrero of the bones brigade:

fuck yeah, tommy g. whatta goofy toofed badass. i was never much into tricks when i did skate. hell, all i could do was ollie and railslide. i mostly just used my board to skate to the park or something. i stopped at an early age cause i was always hurting myself. switched to bmx around the age of 14... ahhh much better.

now for music:

the song that started it all. this tape was so damn good. i'm not sure why in the hell i would have ever stopped listening to this on a regular basis. this is the kinda stuff i wanna do when i get my laptop with hip hops and barley. biscuits'n barley coming soon!

the OTHER song that started it all. the metal seed planted in my soul. i remember trying to do the "maaaaaaaaaaaaadddd" when i was a kid. every time i'd be skating down a hill or something i'd yell that real loud. i had a killer falsetto as a youngin'. and check out those drums!

god damn. i fucking loved the fat boys!

this is the song i would always breakdance to. i even entered a talent show dancing to it.. i reenacted turbo's dance with the broom in it as well (clip shown in turbo tribute)

this is the song jon the hormone and i choreographed a dance to in my garage. we had these big plans to show it off at some valentine's dance he knew of... or something. all i know is our dance was the tits and horton has moves you nerr even heard of. it's incredible... i haven't heard this song in well over 10 years and i still remember all the words. the mind is a funky thang.
