The world today

So as all of us know and are feeling we are having tough times. Be it layoffs, pay cuts, banks changing there interest rates to put there hand deeper in your pockets.

We have come to see our nation show its cracks. People depending on the government for money, food stamps, housing, etc. This trend is not healthy and it is all our fault. We can't blame the government be it those that think is it all from the past eight years to our current administration. Both are right and wrong. We have put those people who have taken our freedoms, money and most importantly our trust/faith in them. We have chosen to point our finger to blame those that made those choices. But we all of us put them there. All of us as a nation have decided that it is not our fault.

If we want things to be fixed. If we want the government to listen to who they serve then we need to send a message. No more special projects. No more underfunding the needs of the nation. We have to choose what we think is the most important and understand the anything else will have to wait. This goes for all levels of government.

Education
Infrastructure
Emergency Services
Defense

These are what we need to keep going. None of these should be let to fail. All but the latter is underfunded or mismanaged.

Education: We have gone too long with the good enough. More money goes to administration of the schools then to the teachers, school rooms and students. To many parents are not taking active rolls with there child's education. It does not start or stop at the school. It begins and ends with the parents. Every day or week teach your child something new, something that expand there mind and how they see the world. Be it how to bake, sew, fix a flat tire, find the north star, anything and everything. Learn something with the sole reason to teach them. Instill common sense. Schools are not a baby sitting service and except for those teachers that inspire you are there main inspiration.

Infrastructure: Our land all of it from the side walk just out side your home to the parks and freeways. This is all yours, every square inch. Don't fuck it up and if you do fix it.

What to I mean by this simple. You see a piece of trash pick it up. Don't throw it on the public lands. The less time people that are paid to maintain our lands have to clean up after you the more time and money can be put into repairs and upgrades.

Emergency Services and Defense: Thank those that risk there lives to keep you save. Both from those that would want to kill us an our way to those that protect us from our selves. You don't have to like who they are or what they are doing but respect them and the fact they are doing the best they can with what they have.

These are the things we can do and there is plenty more. Look at the bigger picture. Don't shout and beg for some special project for our government to do in your area. We are responsible for this nation and what it does we are the ones that voted in those that spend our money. If you want some thing for your community then that is where the money should come from. The more we do with out the help of the government the less we are taking form everybody's pocket. Talk to your company into donating. Talk to your neighbors about helping. Do the little things to help from giving the change in your pocket to a cause for a homeless shelter. Pointing people to possible jobs if they are in need. To picking up a bit of trash you see while on a walk. Changes start small and start with the person not the government. You try to force folks to do something then you will have those same fight against it. Show our congress how to act and spend. Show your state that all the fluff is not needed and that taking more is not the key to fixing our problems.
