Ok, so I've finally, finally seen it. On the way to the cinema, I was (no joke, honestly!) tempted to simply turn around and forget about the ticket in my pocket, which would have cost me CHF 19.-- (had I not had a voucher *g*). I didn't (honestly, how could I?), so here's my sort-of-review (more a rant, really).

I felt the same way about the end and about Saruman missing from the whole thing. My husband heard that the director's cut version on the dvd is going to be 4 hours 50 minutes so hopefully a lot of the stuff that was missing will be in there. And I loved the part when Gandalf told Pippin not to say a word. I laughed right out loud.
