Silk Street
slow day. even so i woke up really early as usual when i dont have to be. stupid body clock. we didnt leave the room until like 12:30. and as we were heading to the ap we got a little sidetracked by the shops that are right outside our hotel. there were signs of t shirts from like 10 rmbs so we were like hmmm maybe we should have a peak. so we went mini shopping. it was a really random store. had normal enough stuff and it was priced in the general area of stuff at home. but all the shorts and knee shorts were huge. gigantic. considering the chinese are pretty small people those sizes seemed inappropriate.
but anywho, i found some really nice knee shorts that we smaller but still too big. i really liked them. they had so many pockets. but i did find some other, that werent as thick and of some synthetic material but still looked nice and had enough pockets. so i bought them. they cost 100 rmbs which was really cheap. and i bought a belt because my really good one broke in ghana and i havent really needed one before but these summer pants have been a little big so the need has increased.
at last we were moving again but we didnt get to the ap until almost 2. im thinking there was ice cream involved in our walk over there too. there always is. and then when we actually got there the amtos where cleaning and had sent everybody away. there was celine dion playing loudly and the detol already hefty in the air. sis and i actually sat and watched celine do her thing for a while. like 20 mins. haha her moves are funny. shes so serious about them and i love when she hits herself!!! thats awesome! apparently douglas had the Celine Dion in Las Vegas dvd...there are reasons for that.
but then we went to subway for lunch. first time for sis and now second for me. i got the same one as before but without mayo. bluuurg. so it was nice today. we got all kinds of stuff on dads one. and then when we came back with his he asked to why it wasnt warm. i was like WTF? they come in warm? so yea i learnt something new...next time im doing the oven! make the meat all warm and the cheese melt. ohhh yea!
so when we came back the dvd was almost done and she sang the titanic song and then it ended. i always call it the titanic song even though i know the real name of it. i swear i do. but now it seems redundant to actually spell it out...i do know it! ok now i feel obligated. its "my heart will go on" ok! happy now! now i feel dirty.
i tried watching kristin kreuk in that fight movie for a while but it was bad quality and i was just fast forwarding to her parts which some people *cough cough* dad...thought it was strange so i opted to change movie. we saw Angels & Demons. well at least the first half. we were waiting for the others to call us so we could go to the market but they never did and the siblings were getting more and more frustrated. but i liked the movie. but im biased since its ron howard. and i liked the book but dont remember enough of it to know if they butchered it. lol same happened with da vinci so i liked that movie too.
i already knew who was the bad guy tho so that was pretty fun to see it from that point of view. its like seeing the movie for a second time. when you already know the twists and you can analyze their moves. whatever that sounds mental.
as much as i like ron i really didnt feel any special directing happening. or anything visually special. the holy guys in red always stood out in every scene but that was as much as i noticed. and the sets. that vault was impressive! and the catholic church use so much fancy stuff. they think theyre so special. all that shiny stuff. whatevs.
but i did remember the assassin being a lot more gruesome in the book. like killing prostitutes while frakking them and gross stuff like that.....umm yea i remember the weird details.
but then we actually got moving to Silk Street. Now when they were talking about a market i thought it was like an actual market market but no. it was a big building with small stalls in them. still sorta had the feel to it though. the initial intimidation of all the people and crap you really dont want to buy being shoved upon you. out of all the others, only kameil met up with us after a while. but it was a productive gift and souvenir buying day. once sis and me got starting on the bargaining. i was awesome at it in ghana. but its so bad in the beginning because you have absolutely no idea of the actual prices of things. thats what freaks me out of the whole process. but once you get started its simply about what youre prepared to pay because youre always going to pay too much anyways. and a good thing was that most of them speak comprehensible english. at least when it comes to the prices and asking for stuff concerning the stuff.
so sis and i bought a red dragon, because that pretty much a have to when you come here. and then we bought coins that ive always wanted. theres so much crap thats so pretty and interesting looking that you just want but theres no way in hell you could actually buy all that crap, take it home, put it somewhere and see it ever again. that was all we bought for the "sheldon shelf" though (named after the big bang theory's sheldon who has a rad shelf, according to my sis). but supposedly there is more to come.
i bought sunglasses. fake ray bans, in the pilot style. ive been walking around with sis's pair for the past week so i just bought my own. they sorta fit me. we also bought a dress for mother dear. we just hope it will fit...lol the sales girl demonstrated that it stretches. haha that was funny. she was like oh dont worry! it can be biig!
and omg! me and sis have been talking about cute and attractive chinese people and how theres a lack of them. we have both seen cute ones but they are few. so its always nice when you spot one. jeez we are so racist! anywho back to sales girl! she is the prettiest chinese girl ive seen irl! all i did was stare at her. seriously. im such a loser but she was really into selling that dress and i didnt care as long as i could look at her prettiness! she looked like lucy liu! but id say with smaller features. that makes no sense, but like picture lucys nose and mouth but they were smaller on sales girl. lol i wanted to do the whole can i take a picture of you like they always do to us. ok exit stalker mode.
when we finally got home the boys were already watching Terminator 4. bryce oh bryce! i love thee my bryce! but it was just the last 20 minutes and she was in it for like 2 mins of that. and i caught a glance of moon bloodgood too! i like her :P shes also in the fighter movie with kristin kreuk.
then they saw the day the earth stood still which ive already seen but still heard some in the bg. i liked it the first time i saw it. but i wasnt it my "WTF hollywood!?! stop trying to be so lame and get some balls to create actual good movies!" phase yet. well ive always been, but the shallow and pretty does win me over quite a lot. im just so over tv and movies right now. all ive been watching for the past 3 months before i got here was GL. but i do enjoy movies and stuff i just feel like theyre all the same right now. but the movie did round up some great actors though. i like that part.
the the chicks all voted for Ghost of Girlfriends Past. oh my shit frakker! first of all i had to wait for my jen! have to put up with mcconahey who i despise with absolute conviction! i cant stand him. and jen was so pretty! gorgeous! but the movie just sucked so much ass i couldnt deal! her hottness didnt make up for the suckyness. sorry jen. and then osama was like " are you guys seriously watching this?" and at that point i was cringing because mcconableh was being a dousche and i let out a half convincing "yeah". soooo we flipped to scrubs instead. good sweet gods! it was pure torture! im still gonna have to watch the rest of the movie at some point but omg thats gonna be way in the future. sorry again jen, but that movie could be used as torture for lesbians!! maybe it gets better in the end?? who the frak am i kidding??
*shudders* we did leave after a few episodes of scrubs, that dad said sucked but he kept laughing through anyways. yep, thats my dad for ya.
