United States of America (from the southermost state--not Florida)
What's the capital city of your country?
Washington, D.C.
What is your country most famous for?
Starting idiotic wars?
Who is the president or the prime minister in your country now?
President: George Dubya Bush (the Monkey)
Governor: Linda Lingle
What language is spoken in your country?
We don't actually have an official national language, but it's pretty much English (and Spanish in the West)
Name two famous celebrities in your country.
From the whole country: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie
From my state: umm... I guess Jasmine Trias from American Idol (I hate that show), and perhaps Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa (his dad lived here, although the internet says that Tagawa moved to TX when he was five). I like him. He's in movies like Picture Bride, Mortal Kombat, and Memoirs of a Geisha just to a name a few of the more well-known ones.
What is the weather like in your country?
Nationally: Sub-zero to 130+
State: 50s-90s, mostly sunny on the leeward side, rainy on the windward side (although two weeks ago just ended a 42-day stint of almost non-stop rain. that was crazy)
Has your country ever been ruled by a foreign power?
Nationally: Only if you count when we were still the 13 British colonies
State: Yes. First we were an independent, sovereign kingdom, then the British took over for a few months before Admiral Thomas, under direct orders from Queen Victoria, returned our sovereignty. And then U.S. citizens illegally overthrew our kingdom in 1893, and we were annexed a few years later. (The Clinton administration actually apologized for all this in 1993).
What do you like most about your country?
Nationally: The diversity of places to go.
State: The diversity of people and cultures. Oh, and shave ice and spam musubi :)
What do you like least about your country?
Nationally: Ineffectual and irresponsible politicians. Idiotic people who would rather watch American Idol than take any interest in their own mental, physical, or political health.
State: The fact that so many people rely on the state for their jobs and to help them out with things. And then the state goes and messes everything up, spending money on plants in W______ rather than our public school system.
Where do people or foreigners go mostly when they come to your country?
Nationally: NYC/D.C./L.A./Boston. The big cities.
State: Waikiki/Pearl Harbor
Has your country ever suffered from a natural disaster?
Nationally: Just recently, Katrina and all that.
State: When the dam broke on K_____ and killed about eight people. Stupid state, can't take care of things like it's supposed to.
What religions are there in your country?
Everything under the sun, although I guess Protestantism is the majority.
