Probably one of my favorite books written by Dean Koontz - next to The Face which was his best work in my opinion - which was apparently adapted into a movie. I ordered it on demand with the usual expectation that the movie wouldn't be as good as the book.
I was initially kind of put off because the characters looked nothing like I had imagined when I read the book. That's a risk you run though when the vision of the director of the movie becomes the 'official' one. Also, a lot of the minor characters were cut out and one of the great things about Odd Thomas was the cast of very colorful minor characters.
It turned out to be pretty good though. They did a good job of relaying the story and even if the characters weren't what I imagined they were likeable and easy to root for. The ending didn't have the impact it did when I first read it because I knew what was coming. Another joy of the book was the twist ending.
Still was worth watching though.
