so what could be better than celebrating 22 fabulous years for 24 hours with the bestest people ever! nothin' really hehe but the sun came out after two weeks of rain and the blue sky made my day.
i have to say, my 21st year was absolutely glorious! i have grown so much in so many ways, and have experienced an enormous amount of adventures and developed the most heartfelt relationships in just over 21 countries and on a ship!! i am so blessed. it was a year full of first times such as my first kiss, my first love, and my first time truly learning to love myself, embracing my spirituality at its upmost and becoming the me ive always wanted to be. ive created the life ive always dreamed of, but i am still working to grow in every part of my life. i could not be more grateful for the people in my life who have helped me to achieve these results either, and for those who keep on my toes day after day, and for all those who show such a great unconditional love for me...for it has meant the world.
to begin the celebration of such an amazing year and moving on to another glorious adventure, my franklin family and i counted down the hours until it all began, starting with the Baobab Bonanza, where we promoted awareness for our Initiative and then celebrated at the Pub! At mid-night, we hosted a champagne celebration with s'mores and awesome people and on into the early morning hours with dancing, happiness, the limbo and homemade twister!!
...but the party did not stop there! later in the afternoon, sarah and i ventured downtown to print of decorational pictures, reflecting our fabulous experience at franklin, discovered some new parts of lugano, were facinated by a stand with old pictures of lugano in the 18 and 1900s, did some shopping and of course, nutella crepes...totally worth the long line hehe!
we invited our favorites over for an afternoon tequila party with margaritas and shots, made specially with my duty-free Sauza from Africa...for im the only one that managed to get through Rome customs with it :) whoo! fabulous sociallizing and new drinking games...brought directly from our African adventures known as Short Bus and Fuzzy Duck...which i am terrible at!
to end the marvelous evening, Sarah and I dressed up in my fabulous Indian attire and made our way the Diwali Celebration sponsored by India Club! we enjoyed the music and food, but my favorite part was eating dinner and dancin' it up with the Indian Boys from USI (the univeristy in lugano) that Heather Frank had invited from AISEC! we all rocked the dance floor and had the most fabulous time.
i stayed up reading my flooded facebook wall, inbox and myspace for birthday wishes, from my loves, and strangers hehe, but my favorite was was Clay and Denise (my dads cousin), for he took a video of him playing happy birthday on the bagpipes!! eek! it really means so very much because our families havent been in touch for years and years and they live just across town, and recently they got on facebook and we have been in awesome contact and i am soo so excited to go home and see them and chat it up :) she even wrote a comment on my facebook wall saying that she was 22 when she first met me at 1 month old. oh im just so happy.
along with all my sunshine and birthday wishes, i also got a fabulous threadless tshirt from sarah and most gorgeous necklace from her mom that i am in love with!! i am so grateful for all the people who care in my life :)
...i only wish i could have remembered to wear my sparkling eyelashes, hehe!
