So, has anyone actually been to Nirvana yet?

[Razer sounds tired; it's barely noticeable, but "barely noticeable" is much too far from "imperceptible" for his tastes.]Once again, there seems to be quite a bit of chatter about it, but I haven't heard of anyone actually doing it. Or, if anyone has, they haven't yet seen fit to share the ( Read more... )

Have you ever been to Nirvana, Remy?

No. I don't like simply wishing for things to be. That whole 'be careful what you wish for' thing.

From what I understand, there is a trade involved, so it isn't entirely just wishing.

That said, I'm not particularly interested in it, either. A victory is worthless without at least some struggle.

[This is the same line of thinking that led to him retiring from combat racing at twenty-nine. No challenge and it's just not worth it.]

Correct. You give something away for good to gain something temporary. Hardly a good deal.

Also agreed on working for a victory.

But it makes me wonder, if the girl says that the man in Nirvana was going to help her, what did she give in return?

That depends entirely on what kind of help he was offering. I doubt she wanted to be trapped in a theatre of death for the rest of her life.

[Pause.]

Well, probably. With crew it's a bit difficult to tell.

Perhaps she enjoys killing people, and he gave her the ability to do just that in exchange for...her freedom? All her worldly possessions? No way to tell without asking.

It'd be a problem if simply asking gets us crushed, although I can get around that. Also there's the issue of her not telling us. And I wouldn't be surprised if we'd have to offer something to the man at Nirvana to get any answers.
