I've decided I judge a word's worth based on how it looks on paper, how it sounds when spoken, and how utterly, unneccesarily long it is. It really doesn't matter what the word means, as long as it looks pretty. This statement probably holds some sort of commentary on my general view of life, but I don't care. I am a superficial word snob and I LOVE IT.
With this in mind, here are my favorites based on sound and spelling and stuff
verisimilitude
superfluous
defenestration
conflagration
juxtaposition
I like the "ion" ending...its a pleasant completion (hhaha) to a word.
gregarious
inconsequential
HIGHFALUTIN (top most special fave)
and the random, not so lengthy..
albeit.
I love the word "albeit" since I have figured out how to use it, it has made a guest appearance in numerous papers and stories. I just like it. It sounds like a type of fish or something. But of course, thats not how its used. You know. ok. I'm glad this week is over. The week ahead provides even more obstacles and annoyingly mundane assignments. Gross. But the weather gets nicer with every passing day, and I get a little happier to notice the small things that make me smile. Like yesterday, I watched a couple run dramatically into eachothers arms from opposite sides of the quad. It was obviously staged and not to be taken seriously, but I loved it. Especially when the boyfriend grabbed his gal and started slow dancing her around their patch of sidewalk. It was just perfect. A little glimpse of cute.
