Genesis 16
Humanity - Fundamentally flawed.
Abram took matters into his own hands.
- He and Sarai wanted to have kids
- Helping God's plan along
- "Maybe God forgot" "I misheared Him"
- He didn't honour Sarai, and certainly did not honour Hagar.
- He started doubting
His standards dropped.
Waiting can be tough!
- Great Frustration
- Abram didn't wait well
Consequences!
God - Compassionate
- He met Hagar in her darkest hour
- He is interested in people
2 Samuel 11
Nothing is unforgiveable to God.
Isaiah 53:8, 9
We have to stay out of God's way. Trust in His promises.

God's Character
Abram tries to help God's plan along - It is not necessary
God is almighty! - El Shaddai
Let God do the work!
God's Command
Abram has to trust God!
God's Covenant
New name - Abram --> Abraham
Abraham - Father of multitudes
Conditions
- Circumcision - A symbol of the covenant
- Sarai --> Sarah
His promises are all inclusive
God's Child
Abraham's responses
Doubt
Obedience - This sould always be the response to God's commands.
