The Many Doctors - Chapter 84 - Thirteen Meets Seven
TARDIS (Thirteenth, with Daniel, Jia'hale, Sabrina, Sigrun and Tamsin)
It was many days, possibly a week, since they had meet the Eighth Doctor, Ezri Tigan and Robin Lawson in San Francisco.
Tamsin entered the console room. He found the Doctor and Sabrina talking in hushed tones over the console.
'Yes, I was right, they are drawing closer together,' she thought. She cleared her throat.
“Tamsin! I didn't see you there,” the Doctor said.
She came closer to the console. “Are we any nearer to finding your seventh self?” she asked.
“We're almost at one location, where myself and two of my companions were.”
“Good,” Tamsin said.
She then heard Sigrun enter the console room behind her. “Very good. It feels like a wild goose chase,” she said.
“It isn't a wild goose chase. She will be found,” the Doctor said.
“Yes,” Sabrina said.
The TARDIS then landed.
18 December 1994
Southwark, London, England, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland
The TARDIS landed near the Globe Theatre.
The Doctor, Sabrina, Sigrun and Tamsin emerged. “So, where were you?” Sabrina asked.
“In the City, but the TARDIS was parked near here,” the Doctor answered. “Closer to the Southwark Bridge.”
Soon, they located the earlier version of the TARDIS close to the southern end of the Southwark Bridge. Again, they surrounded it.
'I wonder how long we have to wait this time?' Sigrun wondered. She hoped that the police wouldn't accuse them of loitering.
The Doctor and his companions finished walking across the Southwark Bridge southwards. It had been a long day. He, Ace and Benny had successfully driven off the Xarlan infiltraters who were attempting to meddle with Britain's (and possibly the world's) financial system.
Soon, they came to the TARDIS. “Who is there?” he asked when he saw that a group of people were loitering near it.
“Doctor, I am also the Doctor.”
“I see,” the younger Doctor said. “Why are you here?”
“Felicia,” the older Doctor said.
The older Doctor, Sabrina, Sigrun and Tamsin followed the younger Doctor, Ace and Benny into the TARDIS.
“It's white,” Tamsin commented, looking around the console room.
“It is,” the younger Doctor said.
“So, Felicia, you saw her?” the older Doctor asked.
“Yes,” the younger Doctor answered. “Just before Bluehenge.”
“I see.”
“She was able to help there,” the younger Doctor added.
The older Doctor knew what his younger self meant. “And then?” he asked with an edge to his voice.
“She also accompanied me to Crook Marsham and the Federation Universe.”
The older Doctor grimaced. The memories of what he did to Ace at the conclusion of the business at Crook Marsham were not pleasant. Not in the least. He was not sure that Felicia would have escaped the same treatment. He looked to Ace. She kept her face neutral, hiding her inner turmoil.
“How was she?” Tamsin asked Ace.
“What do you mean?” Ace asked.
“How do you think she felt?” Tamsin asked.
“I don't know,” Ace shot back. “Lonely. But she didn't want my company.”
“I wonder why,” Tamsin whispered.
“Especially at Crook Marsham,” Ace added.
'What happened at Crook Marsham?' Tamsin wondered. She decided to ask the older Doctor what happened there, and what Felicia might have changed.
The older Doctor spoke up. “Crook Marsham, the village survived, right?”
“Of course it did,” the younger Doctor answered. “I wasn't going to let it be wiped out.”
The older Doctor wasn't so sure. His seventh incarnation may have been a 'chessmaster,' but there was no telling what the unexpected addition of a second companion would do. “Sure,” he said. “What happened in the Federation Universe?”
“The situation with the Romulans was defused,” the younger Doctor answered.
“That could have gone either way,” the older Doctor stated.
“What situation?” Tamsin asked.
“The Romulans were provoking the Federation,” the older Doctor answered.
“I see,” Tasmin said.
A few minutes later, the older Doctor was satisfied, it didn't seem that anything had changed. “Let's go,” he said. He didn't want to stay any longer, and wanted to find Felicia more than ever.
“Definitely,” Tamsin said.
