Lost in School
The new red-head haired boy she met in Yearbook was interesting, but she didn’t expect his house to look... space age.

“Very interesting,” she mused.

“What?” Ted asked.

“Space age house.”

“Yes, my father designed it.”

“Cool.”

They went inside.

“Quite interesting,” Daria said.

“Yes, my parents designed it themselves!” Ted said.

The house was quite space age. They came to the lounge room. “Where’s the couch?” Daria asked.

“It is here, just hidden,” Ted said. He pressed a button and a panel on one of the was slid aside. A couch slid out of the wall.

“Inflatable?” Daria asked.

“Not entirely,” Ted answered.

They sat down. But it was all overwhelming for Daria. “OK. That does it,” she said. She stood up again.

“Keep up?” Ted asked. “What are you talking about? You’re the remarkable one?”

“Oh,” Daria said, as she sat down.

“I mean, please don’t take this wrong, but you’ve got it all.”

“Um, thanks,” she said. She took out a stick of gum. “You want some gum?”

“Hmm.”

However something unexpected happened. A robot appeared. “Danger, Ted Robinson! Danger!”

Daria jumped out of the couch.

“What’s so dangerous?” Ted asked the robot.
“It has no nutritional value whatsoever!”

“What about me?” Daria asked, as she grabbed a gum.

“Danger! Daria Morgendorffer! Time for you to leave!”

“I’m not going to leave unless Ted or his parents ask me to leave,” Daria said to the robot, feeling a little silly. “Besides, I’m not actually eating the gum.”

“The Robinsons have been notified,” the robot said.

Daria sighed.
