So I haven't updated in a good two weeks, I think. Lots of stuff has happened since then, including two trips to Manhattan, but I'm going to keep this kind of short.

Yesterday some friends and I went to the city and wandered around Chinatown. Little did we know before we got there that tropical storm Hannah would be hitting us with her outer bands while we were there. So in Chinatown, we got soaking wet. I bought two more teacups for the tea set I bought there the week before, which now gives me a teapot and a total of three teacups. Sweetness!

We came back to Adelphi, and discovered that the drainage problems plaguing the campus had turned the front parking lot into the Adelphic Ocean, as we call it. The water was about two feet deep and came up to a little higher than mid-calf. Of course, we discovered this by wading right into it. Since we were already soaked, we decided to have a water fight. So much fun. Then we thought about the fact that the water was probably really disgusting, so we went back to our respective dorms, showered, and then met up for some Firefly viewing. My friend Joe has a projector in his room that shoots onto the blank white wall, so it was some pretty epic Firefly times.

The reason I haven't updated is mostly because I've been teching the show - we're gearing up for the opening of RENT in a couple weeks, so it's starting to get down to crunch time. Wednesday I spent all day changing lamps in our lights, because none of the lamps were the right kind that we needed. Then we had to re-label all the instruments D: On Saturday, we rigged the truss in the black box that they're using to shoot some of the film scenes they'll be projecting on the giant white rake we have as our stage. 20x20 truss with big curtains rigged on it. Fun times. Better fun times was that we only have two support trusses, so on the opposite corners we had to rig giant booms to take the rest of the weight.

Today they're filming, which means that I do something for about an hour, and then sit on my ass for about four. Yaaaaay, film! We focused all the lights this morning (8am call, blargh) and the tech director just came out and told me that they won't need us again until 1-ish most likely, so I'll be bringing some of my Japanese, as well as The Iliad, over to the center so I can do homework while I'm sitting on my ass doing nothing. Super fun!

Okay, so I lied, it wasn't that short. Whatev. New icon! *points* Oh, Wash. ♥
