Sorry my updates have not been more consistent. I had a dream about this story and feel like I know where it's leading so hopefully I will be able to update weekly now. Thank you so much for reading. Enjoy!

Clothes were strewn from the loft door to the bedroom where two bodies lay entwined. Brian lay half atop Justin, his face nuzzled in the blond’s neck. Justin’s arms wrapped around Brian, his heels still hooked over Brian’s legs.

Lifting his head and looking at Justin’s beautifully sated face, Brian brushed the hair off the blond’s brow and felt s small ridge at his hairline. He rubbed the area again and noticed Justin had closed his eyes.

“What happened here?” he asked.

Justin stared at Brian for a moment before he answered. “I was attacked in high school.”

Knowing the story already, Brian wondered if Justin would confide in him. “Why?”

“Because I’m gay. Because the fucker who did it is a closet case who enjoyed a hand job I gave him a little more than he was comfortable with,” Justin said and Brian could feel his whole body tense. Justin turned his head away.

Giving Justin a moment, Brian stayed quiet, continuing to stroke Justin’s cheek and neck. He kissed his shoulder, running his lips over the salty skin. “He took so much from me.” Brian was surprised by Justin’s statement.

“What did he take from you?”

“Memories, I can’t remember much from before the prom, just bit and pieces. I wanted to be an artist but the damage to my brain left me unable to use my right hand like I need to. I can’t hold a paintbrush long enough to get anything done. It cramps and then I get headaches. For a long time I had nightmares, but they are less often now. I still occasionally have a panic attack when I’m in a big crowd.” Justin surprised himself at the ease in which he told Brian everything. Now he felt a little self-conscious and wanted to escape. He tried to sit up but Brian held him in place.

“Don’t, please, Justin, don’t run. Stay…stay with me.” Brian gently coaxed Justin to lie back down and relax.

Justin let himself over to Brian’s care, loving the way he made him feel. Safe, he hadn’t felt safe with any guy in a long time. It felt wonderful and terrifying at the same time. Brian rolled off Justin and spooned behind him. “Sleep, I’ll make sure we’re up in time to get you to my mother’s appointment.”

Justin chuckled. “How the hell am I supposed to face her now?”

“No problem there. She thinks you hung the moon.” Brian kissed Justin’s neck and tightened his hold as they fell asleep.

Several hours later Brian’s alarm woke them. “Up and at ‘em, Mr. Taylor. You have an appointment in a few hours.”

Justin grumbled and tried to burrow deeper in the sheets, but Brian slapped his ass and laughed at the indignant look Justin gave him. “Asshole!” Justin shouted.

Brian laughed. “Join me in the shower.” Justin hesitated only a second before jumping out of bed.

Freshly fucked and clean, the men left the loft. “Do you have time for breakfast?” Brian asked.

“A quickie,” Justin said, smiling brightly.

“Smart ass,” Brian smirked. “Follow me.”

“Mornin’ asshole,” Debbie cackled as Brian came into the diner.

“Mornin’ Ma,” Brian said and kissed her cheek. “Deb, this is Justin.”

Seeing how cute Justin was and his big smile, Deb smacked her gum and lightly pinched Justin’s cheek. “Well, hello there, Sunshine.”

“Hi, nice to meet you.”

“Sit down and I’ll be right with you.”

Brian led Justin to the back booth. “You called her Ma.” Justin said.

“Yeah, Deb is Michael’s mom, and they took care of me many nights when my dad had used me as a punching bag. She was more of a mom to me than my own mother was.”

Justin shook his head. “Your dad was abusive?”

Brian nodded, but didn’t have a chance to elaborate before Debbie came to take their order. “How’s Joan doing?”

“Ask Justin; he’s her physical therapist,” Brian smirked.

“What?”

Justin was blushing brightly. “I’m Mrs. Kinney’s home health physical therapist. And, she’s doing well. In fact, I need to get going if I’m going to see her today.”

“Wait right there, Sunshine. You need breakfast first,” Debbie insisted.

“Don’t try to fight her. It’s her mission in life to fatten everyone up.” Brian grinned. “I’ll have some coffee, an egg white omelet and wheat toast, please.”

“Okay, I’ll have pancakes, bacon and some milk.”

“Now that’s what I call a breakfast, Sunshine. Be right back, boys” Deb said as she walked back to the kitchen.

“She’s great,” Justin said.

“She is; she saved my life more than once. She’s the honorary mom to all lost queer boys of Liberty Avenue.”

Justin smiled at Brian and looked around at the diner. “I like this place.”

“It’s a dive; the food is greasy, but it’s kind of a home away from home.”

Just as they were finishing their food, Justin’s phone rang. Looking at the number he furrowed his brow. “It’s your number,” he said to Brian.

“Hello?”

“Justin, this is Joan Kinney. Could we reschedule my appointment for later today?”

“Of course, is there anything wrong?” Justin asked, more for Brian’s benefit than his own.

“My daughter, Claire, just showed up and I am afraid I couldn’t concentrate on my therapy with her here.”

Justin mouthed, ‘Your sister’ to Brian who instantly tensed. “I understand. How about three this afternoon? Instead of starting my day with you, it will be a nice way to end the work day.”

“Oh thank you so much. I didn’t want to cancel, but I just know I won’t have a good session this morning.”

“Is Kelly there with you?”

“Yes, she is and she seems to be handling Claire as well as Brian does,” she replied and Justin could hear the chuckle in her voice.

“Alright, I’ll see you at three.” As Justin closed his phone, Brian was already dialing. “Your sister is there and it sounded like your mom wasn’t very happy.”

“Claire could challenge the Dali Lama’s patience.” His phone rang before he could call his house. “Hi Lindsay. What’s up? Of course, I’ll pick him up at three and he can stay the weekend with me. Mom will love having him with us.”

Justin noticed Brian’s face relax and he smiled. He wondered who Lindsay was and what was making Brian so happy after he had been so tense at the mention of his sister’s name.

Brian hung up and dialed again. “Hi Kelly, how is everything?” He listened for a few moments, gave Kelly permission to kick his sister out if his mom became upset, and then asked to speak to his mom. “Hi, Mom.”

“Hello, Son. Your sister is here. Aren’t you sad you missed her?” Joan’s voice was laced with sarcasm.

Brian laughed. “Terribly sad; I think I may shed a tear. Are you okay?”

“Yes, but I did reschedule my PT appointment until this afternoon.”

“I understand. Well, I have good news; Gus is spending the weekend with us.” He smiled at his mom’s excitement. Justin watched Brian as he talked to his mom. He recognized Gus’ name as being Brian’s son and loved that he was smiling. He thought he could sit and look at Brian all day; he was so fucking good looking.

“Well, I’ll try to get home for the last half of your therapy session then.” He winked at Justin. “If you have any problems with Claire, call me. I told Kelly to make Claire leave if she causes any trouble.”

“It will be fine. I’ll see you and that beautiful grandson of mine this afternoon. I can show him how good I can walk now.”

Brian smiled into the phone. “Okay, see you later.”

“Your sister is trouble?” Justin asked.

“Just jealous. She wanted to put mom in a nursing home, but from listening to the doctors I knew that really wasn’t what we needed to do; so she’s pissed that I took mom in and bought a house. I think mom’s complete turnaround about me being gay bothers her. She’s not the golden child anymore.” Brian snorted.

Justin nodded. “So Gus is your son, right?”

“Yeah, Lindsay has some art thing at the gallery where she works, so she asked for me to take him tonight. Mom loves seeing him so we’ll keep him for the weekend. With everything going on with my mom I haven’t spent as much time as I like to with him.”

“That’s good. Maybe seeing her grandson will help your mom after you sister’s visit.” Justin tried not to show his disappointment. He had hoped to see Brian over the weekend, but now he knew he wouldn’t. “Well, I guess I should get going and go get changed and ready to see my other patients.”

“I’ll see you this afternoon. We should be at the house a little after three thirty.” Brian stood.

“Okay, thanks for breakfast…” Justin blushed. “And last night.”

Brian shook his head. “No, thank you.” He kissed Justin hard. “See you later.”

“Yeah, later.” Justin waved to Debbie. “Nice to meet you.”

“You too, Sunshine. You came back anytime.” Debbie stood at the register watching Brian watching Justin get in his car.

“He’s nice.”

Brian cleared his throat, knowing he’d been caught. “He’s okay.”

Debbie laughed. “Are you serious? I know you saw that cute little bubble butt.”

Brian grinned. “Yeah, I saw it alright. Bye, Deb.”

Debbie noticed the smile on Brian’s face as he got in his car. “Oh, Brian, you’ve got it bad. Sunshine, please don’t break his heart.”
