Laura stood there unable to move, just staring at Brian. Brian watched her eyes fill with tears, and grinned as she rolled her lips into her mouth. If they had been in any other circumstance he would have laughed at the familiar gesture. His arms rose and opened of their own volition as he welcomed his sister into his embrace. She hugged his neck and rested her chin on his shoulder, her cheek pressed firmly to his ear.

“Oh my God,” she whispered. “I can’t believe I’m finally meeting you.”

“Yeah,” Brian nodded and closed his eyes, realizing how good their embrace felt. It was comforting, and although their very first, it was familiar. He felt like he was finding something he never realized he had missed. Brian held on as long as he could, and even when she pulled back to look at him, he held on. He realized this was a fresh start with someone who didn’t care about his past, his reputation as the Stud of Liberty Ave. He could just be Brian here.

“How did you…When…oh my God!” She cupped his face. “You are gorgeous!”

That made Brian blush. “Deb finally told me I had a sister, and I thought I’d come and meet you. Danny helped me make the arrangements. I thought your 30th birthday party would be a good way to start.”

She turned her head to Danny. “You! And you didn’t tell me?” Danny shrugged. “I could use a drink; how ‘bout you?”

Brian nodded and let her hold his hand as they walked to the bar. Brian had a whiskey and Laura a shot of tequila. “God, I have like a million questions.”

“Well, if you can stand it; I’ll be here for the week. I am sure by the time I leave I could have answered about half at least.” He grinned.

Travis walked up and hugged Laura from behind. “Hey Travis, this is Brian…my brother.” Laura beamed.

“Ah, finally…Brother Brian does exist. Nice to meet you.” Travis extended his hand.

“Good to meet you too.” Brian got a strange feeling from Travis. Could it have been jealousy?

“How long have you been here?” she asked.

“About an hour or so.”

“Have you met everyone?”

“A few. Danny, of course,” he looked around. “Robbie picked me up at the airport, Hookah Duke,” Laura laughed. “And…those two.” Brian motioned to Sven and Garrett.

“Oh my, I’m surprised you’re not tied to a bed if Sven and Garrett have met you. They are quite a team. No mercy.” She clinked her glass to Brian’s.

Brian became more intrigued. “Really?”

Laura laughed and shook her head as her brother watched the two Germans grinding against each other. “Oh no! I’ve seen that look before…they have you hooked already,” Brian pretended to ignore her, but a sly grin played on his face. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you.”

“I don’t get hooked.”

“Uh-huh…” Laura chuckled. “Did Danny get you settled in?”

“Why yes he did,” Brian winked. “I am in the bedroom back there.” He motioned down the hallway.

“Good, that’s my bedroom there.” She motioned across the room to two French doors.

“That’s her lair, where she does unspeakable things to unsuspecting men.” Travis kissed her cheek.

“I’ve never heard you complain.”

“And you won’t either. Come on, let’s dance.”

“No…I want to talk to Brian.”

“Go on, dance, it’s your party. Have fun. I’m not going anywhere.” Brian reassured her.

“Come dance with us,” she tugged on his arm.

“I’ll need a few more of these before I dance.” Brian lifted his glass. Laura pouted for a second, but relented and moved to the middle of the crowd to dance. He watched her move and could not help but think that she, thankfully, didn’t get the Kinney dance gene. She reminded him of Justin as she danced. Smiling, free, moving without thought to the beat of the music. Shit, don’t think about him, Brian reminded himself.

Sven and Garrett sandwiched Laura, and Sven whispered something into her ear. She looked around and then back to herself. “Shit!” she exclaimed and walked back towards the bar. Laughing she walked past Brian and Danny, who had come to stand him.

“Why didn’t you remind me I was overdressed?” She poked Danny and walked into her room.

Travis extracted himself from Sven and Garrett’s clutches and followed her.

“Is Travis…?” Brian asked, as he watched him move through the crowd,

“You noticed. Laura swears he’s in bisexual denial. She says he enjoys things no straight man would ever allow her to do.” Danny chuckled.

The brother and sister didn’t have much time to talk during the party, which moved out to the pool area at some point during the night. Laura had seen Brian and Duke disappear for a while, and she was glad someone finally enticed Duke away from the Hookah.

Garrett caught her hand and pulled her into the chair with him and Sven. “So birthday girl, how are you?”

She cuddled close to her dear friends. “I’m fucking fantastic. Can you believe he’s here? Brian is here…my brother…and he so gorgeous and fucking wonderful.”

“Yes he is,” Sven waggled his eyebrows.

“Ok you two…don’t injure him.” Laura waved her finger at them.

At four in the morning, just after Laura and Travis had said good night, Danny took Brian’s hand and led him inside.

The next day, Brian woke up to his stomach grumbling and the smell of coffee in the air. He washed up quickly and as he walked into the kitchen, he found the coffee pot and a note.

Hey Sleepyhead,
Coffee’s fresh, so is the fruit in the fridge. Help yourself to anything you want. Hedonists are out by the pool; I’m in the barn. Come join us when you’re ready.

Brian poured some coffee, fixed a bowl of fruit and took it outside to the pool.

“There he is…” Garrett announced, when Brian walked out the door. “There is the man responsible for the smile that is plastered on Danny’s face today. How’d you sleep?”

“Good,” Brian said, looking in the pool and meeting Danny’s gaze.

“Laura’s in the barn. She should be up soon.”

“What’s she doing in the barn?”

“Watching the horses fuck,” Sven said, and laughed when Brian choked on the strawberry he had just put in his mouth.

“What!?”

Garrett explained. “She has a mare here for stud service. She has to make sure her stud does the job.”

Brian rolled his eyes. “Interesting.” Garret joined Sven in the pool and Danny joined Brian at the table.

Laura came around the house. “How are they doing?” Danny asked.

“Their doing it!” she grinned.

“Yes, we are.” Sven laughed.

“Not you two,” Laura shook her head. “Ya’ll are always doing it.”

“Hey.” She touched Brian on the shoulder and sat down. “How ya feeling today?”

“Better now that I’ve had some coffee.” He then noticed that someone was missing. “Where’s Travis?”

“Thankfully his agent called him and he had to catch an earlier flight.” Laura snagged a grape from Brian’s bowl. Brian was still surprised at how comfortable he felt around her, as if they had always known each other.

“I was thinking we’d just hang out here today, recover from the party. Tomorrow after Sven and Garrett go to the airport, if you want we can go into town and go shopping.” Laura looked hopeful at him.

“Shopping is always good.” Brian sipped his coffee. “They’re going back to Germany tomorrow?” Brian said, thinking he’d better get moving if was going to fuck these two gorgeous men.

“Yep, they’ve been here a month and they need to get back to their store. Make sure Garrett’s brother hasn’t bankrupted them.”

Later that night, around the pool, Robbie had returned and was helping Laura cook the steaks on the grill. Brian, Sven and Garrett were exchanging looks that left nothing to the imagination about what they wanted. Laura turned in early, still tired from the party the night before. She heard everyone come in, and a little later she could hear moans and then shouts coming from upstairs.

Chuckling to herself, she turned over and hugged a pillow. “God I hope they don’t break something,” she said as she drifted to sleep.

Justin walked into the diner for his shift. “Hey Deb.”

“Hey Sunshine.” Deb smacked her gum and walked past him with plates of food. He tied on his apron and walked to the table with the coffee pot. “Hey Emmett.”

“Baby, how are you?”

“Good. Hi Michael.”

“Where’s your boyfriend?” Michael spat.

“Fuck you!” Justin shot back. “Have you guys seen Brian? He hasn’t been in here in a while,” Justin asked.

“What do you care, Boy Wonder. You made your choice.”

Justin rolled his eyes and left the table. Deb stood next to him at the counter, and whispered. “He’s out of town, Sunshine. He’s fine. They don’t know about it, and you’d better not tell them or I’ll kick that cute ass of yours.”

Justin thought about what Deb said all day. Why did she tell him if no one else knew? He considered calling Cynthia to find out what was going on. His thoughts were cut short when Ethan showed up to walk him home.
