Holiday gifts

Jan 03, 2011 23:09

I just realized earlier today that I made a gift list and never posted it. My bad--they were delivered Christmas or soon after.

Denethor: A bottle of blush wine, French, and a box of chocolates. The card reads In honour of the season, my lord father--Faramir.

Draco: A bottle of Elven wine that showed up in his room (one of several). The wine appears to come from a place called Eryn Lasgalen, which Faramir has never heard of. That's because it doesn't exist yet--it's what Mirkwood becomes. The card reads For the Draco, in honour of the season and friendship.

Eowyn: A sturdy basket containing mostly fruit, a few homemade baked goods (bakery), and a small box of chocolates. Discriminating eyes would note the cautious not-too-large gift. The card reads Lady Eowyn, though it is not a holiday we truly celebrate, in honour of your friendship.**

Guy of Gisborne: A bottle of Elven wine from Eryn Lasgalen. The card reads: Sir Guy, in honour of the season. I invite you to join me in the city of Minas Tirith, capitol of Gondor. That is, a re-creation of it I have visited in something called the holosuite in Ten Forward. This if it interests you only.

Kerai and Chuck Shurley: (Yes, together) A basket containing a bottle of Elven wine from Eryn Lasgalen and an assortment of not ridiculously high end snack/picnic food. There is a scroll on which is written a song--in Elvish (Tengwar script). Kerai will probably note that it looks like a song written out. Card reads For Kerai and Chuck in honour of the holiday season. May you enjoy happiness together. I cannot sing as you do, Kerai, but I would share with you "The Lay of Luthien".

Ivy: A book he found that tells the story of the White Tree and its history, with drawings by a man named Alan Lee.

Kimberly Hart: A plant--a peace lily.

Max: A Christmas stocking, plush red with white top and not elaborate. It is filled with an assortment of candy--traditional Christmas--and fruit. There is also a white headband that he was told was good for young girls and a beanie-sized stuffed Rudolph that he was also told was quite the thing. (He looked up Rudolph.) A wrapped present holds a small throwing knife that would fit into a boot. There is a toy in the shape of a piece of sushi in sealed plastic that is filled with catnip for Eva.* Card reads Max, for you and yours in honour of the holiday season. Traditional for many, new to us, for your enjoyment. I am told that kittens are not interested in catnip until they are six months old or so. He will grow into it, and it still makes a fine toy.

Sura: A cloak in the Gondorean style, wine-red wool with lining and fur trim at the top. The card says It does not get so cold in Greece, I understand. This might be more pleasing to you than a modern coat.

Tabitha: A pair of black pearl earrings, fairly large. Slightly green tinted on gold. Card reads: They are elegant and dramatic and caused me to think of you.

*This exists.
**Hopefully Eowyn will not ever know the agonizing Faramir did just to write that much. He has no idea what to say, what's too much...

desire, poison ivy, draco malfoy, denethor, kimberly hart, max guevara, guy of gisborne, sura, kerai, eowyn, chuck shurley
