26 Feb--On a walk in the outskirts/woods, runs into
RichardWilliam Johns. Uncomfortable small talk about why each of them is out so far and Faramir helps William build a shelter (trying too hard, but at least the shelter got built.) A short discussion of hunting mildly freaks Faramir out but he pulls himself together quickly. 'William' tells who the real William Johns is. They attempt to just chill but end up talking. Faramir discloses his actions Opposite Weekend and his island death, truly freaks out, and runs off back to town.
28 Feb--Having received a phone message from William, Faramir seeks out his club to talk to him. Finds
Cybil Bennett who explains that William's phone number is in the directory. She offers orange juice and they talk a little bit about village events, specifically the burglaries and murders. Faramir gets upset but calms enough to make a more graceful exit. One year ago to the day he was shot and nearly had his eyes pushed in by Marv (in a schizophrenic episode.)
3 March--Goes to the gym and is met by
Shane Wolfe, who offers to help by lending a shirt and showing him how to work one of the machines. In the locker room, they see each other's scars and Faramir tells about Marv and Shane tells about Zile, the magic being who attacked him, now vanquished. They basically agree that regular men have no chance against magic and go to show Faramir how to work out. Retcon any mentions of swimming pool. The gym has no pool.
3 March--On a walk, meets newcomer
William Johns. (What a very large gun you have.) Oh crap. Does a minor 'explain the village' speech and sees Johns toward the hotel before taking off to warn Richard. ASAP to Hidden Frank's, where he
heads directly to the bar where Richard is. Richard puts up the 'back in five' sign and Faramir says that William Johns is in town. It really is him, and Richard thanks Faramir and takes off.
5 March--He's been having prophetic dreams about the next murder but, due to regular nightmares, didn't realise it right away. Finally goes to the
police station where he speaks a little with Sophie. She can't help him but he's able to leave a note for Horatio.
The telephone conversation. 9 March--
Faramir blows a gasket. Fortunately, it's Boromir who is with him. He seems to pull it together until he realises that he forgot to go to work. Then he starts to panic and be normal at the same time and can't hold it together. Starts crying, which Boromir notices. Faramir spews some of what's wrong with him then sort of pulls it together with the caveat that he's not real anyway. He's just a character in a story, a minor character, and so has no problems at all. Explains about the book Lord of the Rings and canon-punctures his own brother. That he read part of it opposite weekend and said nasty things about Boromir, Lord Denethor, and Aragorn. Also that he threw the Horn of Gondor into the sea. Faramir hits a mental snag because, while it's fine for him not to be real it is not fine for Boromir not to be real. Of course Boromir is real! They end up going back to the hotel with Boromir to watch out for Faramir's nightmares.
