Before he can clean up and rest, Faramir needs to get his sword back. River is glad to get rid of it but not so glad that she can't find her brother Simon. Faramir has a bad feeling.
Meets the well equipped and armed Stu Redman on the stinky beach in the aftermath of hurricane Anakin. Introduced only as 'Stu' it takes some conversation before Faramir realises that this is the man from The Stand though he keeps this to himself. No irony in that Stu had asked him the oddest thing so far on the island and that Faramir mentioned finding Lord of the Rings.
Runs into Max, who admits to having been largely antisocial lately. (unfinished)
Talks with Bridget, who hadn't realised that people had been shipped to dino land. Gives hug (!) and asks about her housing situation and promises not to leave her so much alone. (unfinished)
Encounters Stu in the caves looking for the Doctor. Ace was crying and Stu offered to help but he doesn't really know where he's going. They search through the caves, coming out in the basement of the compound.
Comes across Jane Bennet in the rec room. She's writing letters that can't be sent to family. He ends up startling her with talk of his very different world and has to calm her down. They talk with the exaggerated politeness common to both their worlds and he ends up telling her about Gondor and leaving her much less upset than he made her.
Anamaria does her laundry and cusses up a storm because the clothes pile thinks she wants frilly dresses. Faramir offers to go get a shirt and Boromir's leggings, amused as anything that a woman will be wearing his brother's clothing. She accepts because it's better than a dress.
Runs across Shady dancing nude near the ruins of her old shelter. Had she given her name as Shadow it would have gone differently, as it would also if not for a chance comment that there are Elves in Faramir's family tree--way back. Shady was an elf before the island, but not one of the Eldar, obviously. She is respectful of his embarrassment at her state of undress (even if she doesn't understand it) and they will possibly speak more about elves later.
Faramir posts a message to the bulletin board seeking those who hunt or fish. Talks to Dr. George O'Malley about it. They end up going fishing--Faramir makes George a new fishing pole and will teach him how. Sees Sirius on the path. Finds out why he's so down and offers to help seek out Jane, even if he's sure she's gone. Also puts Sirius' name on the list of hunters. Finally meets Connor and makes a plan to practice shooting with him. Tristan also signs up, having been providing meat for some time already.
Follows the trail of Mike Pinocchio and speaks with him about the island, dinosaurs, and the scientists' notebooks. Good thing he has no idea that Mike thinks he's a crazy, though at least he is a fan of the book.
Lured to the kitchen by the smell of biscuits baked by Abby. Faramir toasts to Sookie with a biscuit and is actually smiling for once. Leaves Abby to her baking.
Encounters Silence and his horse, just arrived from battle. Ends up leading them to the caves for rest and fresh water.
Meets the newly-arrived Eustace, who is blissed because he thinks he's in Narnia. (unfinished)
Hears screaming and finds Becky and a severed head. She's incoherent and doesn't tell him anything, even her name. She lives in the compound. Does get out something about 'bomb', which he removes from the mouth of the head and pitches as far as he can out to sea. It'll be back, but don't know how soon. (Unfinished. And he does not take the head to the IPD or anywhere else. She ends up hiding it somewhere.)
Faramir post--he's returning Goblet of Fire to the bookshelves when the jukebox kicks in. He's joined by Severus who is also not amused by the music. Begin to discuss the verity of the Harry Potter books. (unfinished)
Talks a bit with Jayne about how the storm damaged Serenity and basic how they're doing. Faramir does not have any idea that Jayne's not 100%. (unfinished)
Sees Kojak the dog and stops by Stu's campsite to discuss fishing and Texas expressions. (ongoing)
In which Faramir sees the notice about seeking crew for The Black Pearl Faramir goes to speak with Captain Sparrow and William, signing up to be a pirate (as discussed when Faramir and Jack were drinking). Agreement is that Faramir ceases any obligation (such as there is one) should they find themselves in Middle Earth. And no beating as punishment. Captain Sparrow prefers the shiny reward system anyway. Basically, a WTF sort of thread.
Stops by to speak with Vianne about the hunting/fishing notice. There is no set schedule of when people bring things in but she does like the idea of there being people to ask for specific items. (unfinished?)
