He walked to the edge and gazed down to where they said he had met his end.

He looked over the edge, leaning dangerously forward to see what it must have been like to fall from that height.
A hand rested on his shoulder, pulling him back.
Turning, he faced the most beautiful sight he had ever seen.
Eowyn smiled at her husband.
“Come, love, and lay these demons to rest.”
“Now that I have you, we will lay our most bitter demons to rest, together.”
Hand in hand, they walked back to the Citadel.
Both were ready to face the future, to move on to better things than the past had given them.
