Phew.... Just finished reading Trial of Apollo - The Dark Prophercy. Great book, I prefer the first one but it's still entertaining to read because my favorite demigod and olympian are together to defeat the second emperor.
I must say that I'm not really into reading book, at least not like before. After finished reading Harry Potter, I wasn't really in the mood to read any other books. I read the Infernal Devices by Cassandra Clare but wasn't in the mood to continue with Mortal Instruments and Dark Artifices. But, when my sister first mentioned Percy Jackson, I was immediately interested, perhaps because I would like to know more about Greek Gods. Prior to reading Percy Jackson, the only Greek Gods I know was Zeus, heard of Poseidon and Apollo. But, after reading Percy Jackson, I know all the twelve olympians and a few minor Greek Gods. I immediately continued with Heroes of Olympus once I'm done with Percy Jackson and choose Leo Valdez as my favorite character. My favorite scene in the last book was when Leo finally meet Apollo. I was like, yeah my two favorite characters are together. Nice.
Then, I got the news that Rick Riordan is going to continue with Trial of Apollo and Leo would be in the book. I was so excited and it was really entertaining to read the book from Apollo's POV. He is conceited and selfish, so I laughed a lot reading the book. Because of what happened at the end of the first book, I think Apollo got a bit serious in the begining of Dark Prophecy but once he was reunited with Meg, he was back to his old self. How I laughed so hard that he was excited when Thalia and the Hunters of Artemis rescued him, with Thalia shouting 'Save Apollo' and he was excited because finally someone acknowledge that he should be the priority. But, the cutest scene, in my opinion, was when he was introduced to Peaches. If you didn't read the book, let me brief you a bit. Apollo was blamed by Zeus for what happened in Heroes of Olympus. So, as a punishment, he became a mortal named Lester and in order to be a God again, he had to do a quest. He had a master named Meg who is a daughter of Demeter. Meg had a pet karpoi named Peaches who only say 'Peaches'. In the book, Peaches came to rescue Meg and Apollo in a cave with two other karpoi. Apollo introduced himself and Peaches introduced the other two who came with him, of course by saying both of their name is peaches. Apollo was like, what's the point of introduction when he didn't know what their name really is. So, when he talked about the three karpoi in the next chapter, he called them, Peach, Peach and Peach.
Oh, the villain of the second book was also funny. A bit like Apollo but viscious. I think being a mortal help Apollo realized how troubled demigod was with the quest sent by the God. So, I hoped once he regained his godhood, he will no longer send demigod on ridiculous quest. He mentioned about this in the book so hopefully something will change in him.
Little bit sad with the ending because Leo and Calypso will not join him in the quest anymore because they want to remain in Waystation. Hmmm... Really hope Leo will follow him. But, this book is not about Apollo and Leo, it's about Apollo and Meg. There will be more familiar faces for the next book. One character for sure would be Grover. Hopefully Frank and Hazel would be in the next book. Well, I wouldn't know till the next book.
I wonder what book should I read next. Mortal Instruments or Throne of Glass? Or something else? Ah, but first, I want to play the new game from GameHouse, Heart Medicine-Hospital Heat
