Biding Time

Waiting to watch Leverage. Timothy Hutton stars in the new series. And Christian Kane is in it too! Tonight's ep features a song by Christian. I remember seeing him in the Buffy spinoff, Angel. It's good to see him back in a weekly series. And the character he plays is cool ( Read more... )

Good gosh. For a change you've touched upon several subjects I actually know something about. *g*

Have to say I've been finding myself watching a lot of Discovery, History, and Learning Channels lately.

Waiting to watch Leverage.

I'm liking this show a whole lot more than I thought I would. I've never liked or disliked Hutton but he's terrific in this. And, well, one just can't complain about CK, can one?

This season's Heroes has been a disappointment.

I don't know how much validity there is to my theory of hang in there for the whole season because it's going to get better but ... not long ago I read an interview with Kring. Seems he had handed over writing duties to a couple of idiots and hasn't liked how the focus in Heroes seems to have swung toward the superpowers rather than the characters who have the superpowers. Kring kept telling his writers to get back on track and they kept ignoring them and he eventually fired them but not soon enough to save the first half of the season. Kring was hoping to start getting back on track the second half of the season. So ... here's hoping.

CBS cancelled Moonlight.

They didn't even give it much of a chance, did they? I felt it was just beginning to really hit its stride when they killed it.

ABC is cancelling Pushing Daisies.

Eh. While I feel your pain (SGA is cancelled, dammit!), I have to admit I gave Pushing Daisies a try and just couldn't find it a good fit.

*Network TV is evil, I tell you!*

Definitely. I'm kind of feeling like once SGA is over and done with I have no shows that I will get totally involved in again. Oh sure, there's shows I like but I'm kind of holding back my love 'cause they'll probably get cancelled anyway.

Torchwood fried Owen.

Yes, dammit! I actually liked Owen better than Ianto. Gonna miss him.

Primeval made mince meat out of Stephen.

That one I haven't decided if it's permanent or not. There's all that changing timeline business going on that makes me wonder. I wouldn't miss Helen though. She messed with the boys way too much. ;)

I just heard about a four-part miniseries, The Last Templar, based on Raymond Khoury's best-selling novel.

Huh. Do you know I've had that book forever and haven't gotten 'round to reading it yet. I'm not even certain where I've stuffed it. It's been on the must-read list for way too long. When does the mini-series air? 'Cause I should try to read it first, I'm thinking.

I've watched a couple of The Legend of the Seeker eps. I like it but it hasn't grabbed me enough to seek it out every week.

The Judas Chalice ... I'm not sure. I rather think I just wasn't in the mood to pay attention to TV the night I watched it. Whatever was going on, it didn't leave an overwhelming impression.

I'm hoping to get some DVDs for Christmas. In fact, hoping to get an old series (it's on the Santa wish list). Hardcastle and McCormick -- all three seasons.

Heehee.

We do have similar tastes. Tom Paris and Methos. Oh, yeah!

I miss Owen too, dang it. And, yeah, Helen is a poison pill. Still, I liked the Nick-Helen-Stephen triangle and would have liked watching Nick and Stephen work it out. I'm going through Stephen withdrawal. *sigh* Thank the gods for fanfic.

I guess I'll give Heroes another shot, but the magic is gone.

I'm looking forward to seeing a new series on TNT called Trust Me starring Eric McCormick and Tom Cavanaugh who I saw in a great little movie called "Breakfast With Scot". I didn't see any of his earlier TV work, so I want to check this one out.

Seeker isn't easy to find. It's been channel jumping. iTunes has the eps available, though.

Hardcastle and McCormick! Wow, blast from the past. I loved that show.

I just pre-ordered the Moonlight DVD. It'll be released in January.

And I ordered a handful of DVDs from Amazon and they arrived, so I have something worth watching.

Enjoy H&M!

P.S. The Last Templar - January25 -NBC - 9 a.m. :-)
