So, on Monday I officially started my vacation.
Tuesday I went in to interview for the campus position I applied for. I knew three of the four people on the interview team and I felt very comfortable. I think it went quite well, but we'll see. They had more interviews to do and then with the holidays and vacations they aren't expecting to make a final decision until the end of January. I'm cool with that. I was just relieved to have the interview done so I could relax and enjoy my time off.
Yesterday I puttered around the house. I updated my address book, did my Christmas cards, and wrapped all the presents. I cleaned more stuff out of the closets and carried bags of used clothing to the Gaia bin.
Today I mailed the cards, did the last of my Christmas shopping, and had seafood and lobster ravioli at one of my favorite restaurants. Now I can sit back and really get into the holiday spirit.
Tomorrow night I'm meeting some friends from work for a ladies night out. That should be fun.
I'm thinking of seeing "The Golden Compass" on Saturday. Or maybe the new "National Treasure" movie. I've heard that "Juno" is a good one. And I'd love to see Cate Blanchett in "I'm Not There".
My niece and her fiance gave me an early Christmas present, the DVD of "Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children". And I love it! I really liked the first film about the spirits within. FF VII has the same great animation. It has an engaging story and I love the characters.
