Wow, it's been nearly a month since my last post!
I've been reading my flist, but I'm too far behind to catch up on all the posts. My apologies.
Lots to tell, but most is the usual stuff, so I'll hit the highlights.
I woke up Thanksgiving Day with a head cold and a sore throat. Missed holiday dinner with the family and spent the long weekend at home. Good news is, the fever broke yesterday, and I didn't have to blow my nose every two minutes. I stayed home today, and I'm going back to work tomorrow.
I applied for another position on campus. It had a short application period, and I spent a couple days getting my work history, resume, and cover letter together. It's been twenty years since I last had to apply for a job. I got my application in on time only to find out a week later that the deadline had been pushed back two weeks. They revised the job description, too. Turns out the revision goes in my favor! Yay!
I also found out the start date for the job is the first of the new year. That means I can celebrate my 20-year anniversary in my current job and get a longevity bonus from my union! A nice chunk of change, that.
I started NaNo this year, but with all that's happened in the last two weeks I'm so far behind.... Well, there's always next year.
My writing has been on hold too as I focus on work, union commitments, and committee stuff.
I'm enjoying TV lately. Monday nights it's Chuck and Heroes. Wednesdays it's Pushing Daisies and Hotel Babylon. Thursday is Supernatural night. It's Moonlight and Numb3rs on Fridays. And Saturdays is Torchwood.
Viggo wrapped shooting on "Good" in the spring and is now working on "Appaloosa" with Renee Zellweger and Ed Harris.
After principle shooting on Flammen og Citronen wrapped Mads attended the Danish Film Festival in L.A. as the guest of honor. He is going to be a presenter at the European Film Awards on December 1st. Igor and Coco is on hold until next spring. This may give Mads the opportunity to do Valhalla Rising with Nichols Winding Refn. That would be so cool. We've been waiting a long time for this one. Mads as a Viking! Ooh, baby!
Mads has done a lot of movies in Denmark and has starred in most of their biggest hits. He loves doing Danish stories and won't ever stop, but realized he had to do films outside the country or risk being overexposed. He now has representation in the U.S., the William Morris Agency, no less! Teresa Peters is one of their top agents and she adores Mads. Hopefully she'll find some interesting projects for him.
My dream would be to have Mads and Viggo in the same film! Both have played good guys and bad guys and good guys who did bad things and bad guys with a vulnerable side. It would be interesting to see how they would be cast. Oh my, I'm getting dizzy just thinking about it.
Of course, Denmark will always be home base for Mads.
