you were wondering just how far you can push me
and i was wondering just what kind of blood did they put in such a sweet tasting beast to turn that tongue so mean
i mean
i mean
dont take this the wrong way but we have a long way to go (we have a long way to go) we have
many miles before we are home so lets
lay down these heavy handed aggressions you
can tear my lungs from the cave of my chest and find
each pitted bronchial a catacomb of devotion to you
i mean i
release gasping prayers each morning (for years) for years
your name was the first on my tongue until i had to get right
get down into the dirt of my life and just
bury my body before the sun sees me she just
burns me pink and raw (miles away) from the
home with your bones
I wake,
wanting to build us a house
with doors as red as my mouth and walls that can withstand the days of
sore thighs and wet cheeks
until the floors fall from beneath me i will be
waiting wishing and working for it
(work for it)
these days are nothing but the hours before
a monster of a life who's teeth are already gum deep in me
i design each room carefully and fill each hallway with the hands and feet of our future
a thousand times we've been married
until i wake with no fawn just a
nose bleed and nothing i can say to make you want (this)
