i'm now slutting it up on the internets - myspace, facebook, linked in, livejournal and most recently, twitter. i used to avoid and resist signing up for too many of these networking sites. in college, i spent too much of my time with faceless friends over the internet, whether via email, chat, or world of warcraft. but more and more of my friends nowadays are on these different sites and it's hard to keep up with their daily shenanigans without signing up myself. HE has also made me -- not famous per se, but interesting to a small group of geeky strangers online. people seem inexplicably interested in my mundane pursuits.
i am still vaguely wary of being on the internet. it's the same feeling i get when i'm walking to my car and it's already dark -- even though our offices are in a safe part of town and the parking lot is well-lit, i still nervously glance around if i hear footsteps anywhere near me.
oh internet, please don't jump out from behind a car to shiv me and i'll learn to trust you yet.
