▶ what is a pinch hit?
pinch-hitting is basically volunteering to write an extra fic on a short notice if someone else drops out of the exchange! if you say "yes" on your pinch hit option, i'll be counting on you in case someone drops out. while we'd be extremely grateful if more writers offer to pinch hit, i'd also like to emphasize that you should only volunteer if you are 100% sure that you will have the time/energy to write an extra fic on short notice.
▶ can my prompts be based on songs/music videos/pictures/quotes?
yes, absolutely! go wild with your prompting, be as creative as you'd like. please keep in mind, however, that the more vague/open your prompts are, the more freedom your writer has so you might get something completely different from what you had expected! my suggestion would be to balance the prompts as much as you can-- maybe keep one open to interpretation, and two others with a stronger outline. in the end, though, it's your choice so feel free to belt out some mumford&sons lyrics in your prompts section if you'd like.
▶ i want to sign up but i'm lacking inspiration for prompts...
fear not, mod teesta is very intimate with inspirational slumps. let me redirect you to some wonderful places! there's
typewrittenword,
other-wordly,
fanxingimagines to begin with, and there is
this absolutely wonderful masterpost as well. you can go through any of those (and many other wonderful blogs/books as well) and draw your ideas from there.
▶ where can i find a beta reader?
as such, it is not mandatory for you to have a beta reader to writer for this exchange. however, we always encourage having a beta reader look through your work! the
sonyeoncheonji fic community has an excellent page for beta readers willing to work with you-- check it out
here! IMPORTANT: Please make sure none of the beta readers are part of/planning to participate in the exchange! We want to keep the exchange anonymous before the reveals.
▶ do i have to write all three of the prompts that are sent to me?
not at all! we ask for three prompts so that the writers have three options to choose from. when you are given the prompts, you can pick one which you like best, to write.
