I love Craigslist.
Last night at about 9, I turned to Kevin and said "That's it! We need a grown up couch! I'm checking craigslist."
So there was me in the middle with Jonathan on one side, Kevin on the other, perched on our very collage futon-from-hell, scanning craigslist for a decent couch. We found a white leather couch with pull out bed for $150 and picked it up this morning. Jonathan most dutifully helped us carry it upstairs and also installed the sleeper bed that the previous owners had taken off for ease of move (My sister in-law points out that being handy is a very important feature in a boyfriend).
A lot has been going on in Megland, which can include, but is not limited to, the fact that New College still has not started up their spring semester. This is time for all my readers who would enjoy a bit of schadenfreude to prick up their ears. Right now we don't know exactly what's going to happen with the college or even if the college will be able to remain open. However, because I started the program when they were accredited, New College is obligated to have me graduate with a degree that means more than the paper it's printed on.
The Writing and COnsciousness program does have some back up plans. THey have had these emergency back up plans since October when the shit started to hit the fan. We don't know when they will implement those plans, so much depends on what will happen with the college. It's a little nerve wracking, I can tell you that, but I am staying optimistic that it will all work out in the end.
IN the meantime, I am having fun. Work continues to be a lot of fun and there is talk of teaching me more skills. I have a social life! A prime example of this is Anne coming over to play board games with me and Jonathan. We played Settlers of Catan and Kill Dr. Lucky - Anne slaughtered us both but most of the fun was just PLAYING the game and making idle threats and smack talking. The incorporation of booze was also good. Game nights need to happen more often :)
So yeah - we have a couch (yay!). New College might go under (boo). I have a social life with friends and a boyfriend who are all awesome (yay!). All in all, things aren't too bad. Little stressful, but not bad.
