is everybody reading?
I'm on p.62 of Dead Men's Boots, by Mike Carey, bk 3 in the Felix Castor series. I have the first 4, and ordered bk 5 from the UK since I don't want to wait til January.
Also reading Aspergirls, by Rudy Simone, which is about girls with Aspergers.
Other books standing in line for when I finish Felix Castor:
The Man With The Knives - Ellen Kushner's story about Alex from Swordspoint meeting his wife.
I Am Not A Serial Killer - Dan Wells' first novel about a boy fascinated with serial killers. It seems to be annoying the heck out of mystery readers by being fully real world-based until about halfway through, when a character spies a demon. I thought that choice was interesting...it's exactly what would happen if someone saw a demon in real life. It's not something you'd expect in any way. The book is kind of a lot like Dexter, only as a high schooler who is trying not to kill anyone.
The River Kings' Road - Liane Merciel's first novel, which I haven't got very far in.
Nights of Villjamur - Mark Charan Newton's first novel, which shows great imagination hobbled by unawardwinning prose. Grr. This is making me get stuck in it.
Lord of the Changing Winds - Rachel Neumeier's novel about griffins being chased out of their desert into a nearby kingdom. Neumeier says she is inspired by McKillip, and it shows - the book is a sort of tribute to McKillip's flowery style. Unfortunately, it is also somewhat slow, even though the images are beautiful, and the parts that don't involve Kes the village girl learning about the griffins are not ringing true to me for some reason.
