Okay, did you get an impression at the end that Mag & Ducon were half-siblings?

The ending. Discuss.

I was thinking they might be half-siblings. . . but then I decided that that sense of a bond was because they were both children of both worlds. I think the story Lydea tells Kyel at the end is Mag's parents' story -- a man from Ombria and a princess from the shadow world (though it's really the world of light, a flip I loved) who fell in love, and the princess crossed over into Ombria when the man died, then couldn't get back to her world with Mag so she left Mag with Faey (and then presumably went back to her world ( ... )

I still think Domina is a title though. When Camas Erl is talking to her, he says 'Yes, Domina,' which to me sounds like 'Yes, Prince' or 'Yes, Mayor.' I don't think they were probably on first-name terms.

I was assuming the woman was from Shadow Ombria because she got trapped in the side of Ombria that she had to leave the baby on, and if the baby is Mag then Mag is in Ombria proper. . . plus the artist getting kills feels more like an Ombria thing than a Shadow Ombria thing. . . but there I think McKillip is being deliberately vague with whose world was whose ( ... )
