Heh, I've shelved that omnibus. I never realized the 3rd book wasn't in it! The 3rd book is The Dark Hand of Magic, which you probably knew. It's not really a trilogy, as there's the possibility of more novels....Hambly just never sold them. She's started writing short stories & putting them up on her website, $5 for a pdf download. She's going to write 1 story per fantasy universe & then see if she can use them to get editors to buy sequels. She doesn't have a Starhawk & Sun Wolf story up yet though. I hope she gets to that one soon..

Yeah, when I went to order the books I was looking for an omnibus that included all three, but I couldn't find one. So The Dark Hand of Magic is one its way to me now, and as soon as it gets here I'll read it and be sad that there are no more. :(

That's an interesting strategy she's trying on her website. . . $5 seems a little steep for a short story at the moment, but someday when I have a little more cash in the bank I'd be tempted if there were a Sun Wolf and Starhawk story up there.

And I am going to try a Benjamin January mystery next. . . it will fit nicely into my mystery challenge this year, and the only possible downside is that there are, what, nine novels in total? And I didn't leave myself room for books that aren't also for some challenge or another! Harrumph. I knew there was a flaw in this plan somewhere. . . :)

I have not been on here in so long! I smiled when I saw this title and review - loved this series! :)

I am so happy that comrade_cat recommended it to me! This past year I've gotten active on a whole bunch of social networking sites talking about books, and I've gotten a whole slew of new authors as a result. It's been fantastic, because I was at the point where I had read everything by all my old authors and was left panting in anticipation for their one book a year (well, not even that for authors like Robin McKinley and Patricia McKillip) so I really needed an infusion of fresh blood. :)
