Another currently reading list...?
I have a ton of books in my TBR pile but always looking to add to it, so I love when people list the stuff they're reading.
I just finished Working For The Devil by Lilith Saintcrow. I really liked it but I'm not sure if I can explain why... the dialog wasn't the greatest and the world building was incomplete but it still drew me in. I did like the blend of sci-fi elements (it's set in the future so you get hover-crafts and skin-embedded media, crazy weapons, etc.) and religion (main character is a necromancer who worships Anubis) and various magics (said necromancy, shamanism, voodoo). I am interested in reading more of Saintcrow's stuff. And don't let the cover turn you off. For some reason the woman on it is carrying a gun, in actuality the heroine wields a katana - which I think is awesome.
I just started Patricia Briggs' Dragon Bones, and so far so good. The woman writes a very entertaining story.
