Movie Review: Transformers 2

Well, to all the critics who say it sucked I have to ask: were they watching the same movie? No, it's not exactly groundbreaking, nor does it make you think, and probably there were illogical things in it. But guess what? It's an ACTION movie. Last I heard, action movies weren't about making you think (though I do applaud those that at least TRY) it was about the butt kicking and cool special effects. That said, this movie has that in spades and it does it well. Even more, there's a point to the action. Yes, there's a scantily clad Megan Fox hanging around (which annoys me because in the show Michaela covered up and didn't dress like a slut) but it's still a damn good action movie. If you want serious thought provoking stuff, see a drama movie. That's what they're FOR.
Enough ranting, all this aside, the movie was awesome. A little better then the first too, in my opinion because there was more explanation stuff going on and you can see clearly how being with the autobots changed Sam and Michaela (I know people dog these two about their acting but they are still young and personally I thought they were quite good at it given the limit the scriptwriters gave their characters). The roomie was funny and I grew to like Simmons in this. My personal favorite scene was when the soldiers basically parachuted the guy in charge off the ship. You could tell they loved every minute of freaking him out and I don't blame them, that guy was the eptiome of the things that annoy me about politicians who use the army for their gain.
So all in all, a pretty awesome movie. Especially if you're in the mood to see things get blown up which today I was since I've worked seven straight days. Saw the Harry Potter trailer again and it looks awesome. I will be seeing it on the eighteenth after the family gets back from Memphis. I also saw the trailer for the Avatar: The Last Airbender movie and I am happy to report it looks AWESOME. True, it only showed Aang, some Fire Nation ships and a bit of the Air Temple but that little bit it showed looks spectacular and I think the writers actually watched the series! Of course I'm still weary, since we haven't seen Zuko, Katara, or Sokka yet. I'm also not sure how they're going to fit three seasons of storylines into one movie (unless they're doing a trilogy thing, which would make sense to me) but nevertheless this made me ecstatic about it and mad because now I have to wait until NEXT SUMMER. Cruel Nickolodeon, cruel. But something to look forward too. After Harry Potter the only movies I want to see are Princess and the Frog and that Sherlock Holmes movie (Jude Law in Sherlock Holmes movie? Sign me up) and maybe Where the Wild Things Are. I'm still not sure about G.I.Joe, it looks like they tried to uncamp it too much and failed because quite frankly, you can't get as campy as G.I.Joe.
Now, that said, I WILL be updating Down The Rabbit Hole this week. I just don't know when. I've had to do a lot of editing and checking on how they do holidays in Japan so it's been taking longer then I thought. But I'm almost done. Friday will be the latest day it could be up. I'm also starting up Diary of Witch again. I actually had planned on having that finished up by now but I got sidetracked with moving, other fics, and my computer troubles so it'll hopefully be up at the end of this month because seeing ads for Half-Blood Prince has inspired me to write HP again.
