You know I used to enjoy the MTV movie awards. I in no way, took it seriously, but it was funny and more accurate in movie nominations then the Oscars. But the past few years...I don't know, it's lost it's luster for me. Especially this year because the people/movies they have nominated make no freaking sense. For starters Twilight and High School Musical 3 were considered some of the best movies of the year next to Dark Knight and Iron Man? WHAT THE HELL? Those two movies were NO WHERE NEAR as good as DK and IM. They shouldn't even be in this freaking category.
Also, in best breakout performance that says to me a person WHO HAS NEVER ACTED BEFORE. They have Miley Cyrus, Asley Tisdale, and Vanessa Hudgens. Um, hello, these girls have played these roles numurous times. Yes, it's been on tv and not movies so I guess TECHNICALLY it's a breakout performance but um...NO. God this so freaking annoying. I liked this ceremony a lot more before teeny boppers took it over and now have more say in it because the industry thinks they have all the buying power now. I thought the teeny bopper award show was the Nicklelodeon ceremony but apparently now they have control of MTV too. As if MTV wasn't moronic enough. They might as well call this show The highest money-making movie awards ceremony instead of mtv movie awards. Please don't give me that shit about it being for the fans either because NO ONE went to see Bride Wars and yet THAT'S what Anne Hatheway gets nominated for and not Rachel Getting Married which I can tell by the previews alone is a far superior performance. I'm sure she's banging her head right now.
Whatever MTV. The only reason I'm watching is to watch Dark Knight kick butt. Unfortunately, it'll probably get trumped by Twilight because of the teeny bopper fangirls but whatever, I can still dream that they have taste.
