Things I'm looking forward too in 2009...and things I'm not so much looking forward too...

THINGS I'M LOOKING FORWARD TOO:
1) Getting rid of Bush when Obama takes office (officially, because lets face it, he's practically already done it). I've made it no secret I can't stand Bush and the number of reasons why would take up this whole post so I'll spare you. Although...I have to admit, he's given us some laughs...that shoe-throwing incident will never cease to be funny, even though I feel bad for the reporter now stuck in jail because of it.
2) Movies. There are actually some good looking ones cominth out next year: Inkheart, Dragonball (this one is actually equal parts happiness/equal parts horror that Hollywood has their hands on the anime that got me into anime (one of them, the other two were Sailor Moon and Gundam Wing) but the promo pics make it look very promising plus I'm eager to see what James Marsters does and Chow Yun Fat in an island shirt as Master Roshi...that's going be hilarious), Harry Potter 6 (I'm still mad at WB for pushing it back though), Star Trek (that trailer looked awesome, I don't care what Trekkie snobs say, I'm seeing it and it has Zack Quentin in it from Heroes so you know I'm there), the X-Men Wolverine Origins movie (come on, who DOESN'T want to see this? Plus it has Gambit in it! He's been ignored so far in the movie franchise and was that a young Storm I saw in that trailer?), Monsters VS Aliens (this looks like a spoof on the two genres but it looks like lovingly done spoofs done RIGHT, I'm sold. Plus Stephen Colbert is doing one of the voices so you know he'll be hilarious), and Up (Pixar, nuff said). Plus, I believe The Princess and the Frog from Disney is also coming out, right? I'm really looking forward to seeing hand-drawn animation on screen again...been so long. I love CGI but seriously people...hand drawn animation has practically become a dying art form...actually it IS dead. If anyone can bring it back, Disney can.
3) Award Show season. I missed it so much last year. I really hope the stars do not strke and ruin it AGAIN FOR THE SECOND TIME IN A ROW. I understood the Screenwriters striking because they got paid jack to begin with and frankly without them there would be nothing to shoot. But seriously...movie stars have no reason to bitch with the amount of money they make. TV stars I think should get paid a little more because they can work seriously long hours but movie stars? Not so much. Personally, I think they just saw that the Screenwriters got what they wanted and got jealous and therefore wanted what they have. Bunch of babies.
4) Getting my license....yes, I know it's sad when a twenty-six year old can't drive. I'm WORKING on it, okay? This is my year. Because I seriously need better ways to get around after this move. I also need to move out but for that my job needs to give me more hours or I have to take on a second job. It'll probably end up being the second choice.
THINGS I'M NOT SO MUCH LOOKING FORWARD TOO:
1) The backlash that will undoubtedly appear when Obama makes his first mistake. You KNOW the press and people will suddenly get all dismayed when they realize...oh, crap he's human isn't he? Never mind that he's been saying he's human all along. Although, this may not actually happen in 2009 but later...
2) Twilight sequel in theatres: WHY I ask you? The first movie sucked as much as the book itself, even fans thought it was bad (maybe because seeing it played out on screen finally drove home how bad the story actually was??? ;shrugs innocently;) so just because it made money in its first weekend (never mind that it's been dropping steadedly since then) we have to have a bad sequel? I really wish I could shake the movie industry some times. I also wish I could shake fandom sometimes but that would require lots of hands.
That's actually about it...I don't have a crystal ball so I can't tell what's going to happen in the future year(other then possibly the economy getting worse then it is...if that's possible).

random, real life
