:((( Man, that's harsh. Sorry to hear that. *hugs* Best of luck with your job hunt!
Luceti's made me juuust a little curious about Trigun, but I think I've heard that it's got a very dark ending...? (I might be wrong: I easily get series mixed up.)
...Wow, that's pretty different from the vague impression I've gotten. For some reason I thought it was pretty heavy and dark most of the time. Hm. Thanks for the explanation!
*proceeds to pester you with further commentary* Dark and serious is fine with me as long as it doesn't end too badly... I don't think I need super-happy endings, but I can get really down by some bleak endings that others are perfectly fine with. (To give some quite possibly completely irrelevant instances if you haven't seen them, I found Serial Experiments Lain and Now And Then, Here and There to be way too bleak and disturbing at the end. OTOH, I was quite fine with the ending of the first Fullmetal Alchemist anime.)
I gottcha. Where I'm pretty cool with dark endings. Like I enjoyed how realistic Now and Then's ending was. How not everything gets wrapped up in a pretty bow all the time, but kinda close to that.
But Trigun has a happy ending no question about that. And if you watch the 'secert' credit run at the end it gets even more happy. Everything gets wrapped up pretty well and happy. It does leave you with a question of: Uh, Vash... WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU THINKING? How is that suppose to work? But it leaves you feeling that whatever he is thinking WILL work in the end.
Glad to hear it about Trigun! ^_^*is quite curious by now*
I couldn't really enjoy Now and Then after the point where the youngest child soldier was killed. But what really ticked me off at the actual ending was Sara's choice at the end to stay behind as a pregnant teenager with no-one around to support her, and how that was presented as being the good, hopeful, life-affirming choice. There wasn't anyone left to help her except the young orphans who she was supposed to help. I just kept thinking "even if she doesn't die from child birth, the baby and quite likely some of the orphans will probably die from malnutrition". She should have brought them with her back to our world instead.
...ah, sorry, old grudge I can't seem to let go of. Um, anyway, again, thanks for the info!
It's cool. That thing about Sara made me go: Wut!? GO FOR THE HOSPITAL YOU NUT!
But yeah - if you ever have any other questions about Trigun I'm always happy to gush about my favorite fandom~! Feel free to PM this journal or even my non-RP journal zig_zag123 *points above*
