Some people say a lie's a lie's a lie, but I say--

Two earthquakes happened and I didn't notice.

I wish I were kidding. I'm really not.

The first was this morning at about 5:00 about 120 miles west of where I am. Apparently, it was a 5.2-magnitude earthquake. My roommate said her bed started banging against the wall. I slept through the entire thing. All of it. The News says it was the biggest one in the region in forty years.

And then there was another one (or maybe an aftershock?), a 4.6, that happened at around 10:15. But Allison, you say, surely you were awake for that one?

Yep. I was. I was in my engineering math class, sitting in the second row in the far right. I didn't even know it happened until my roommate found me again at 12:45 and told me.

Go figure.

I did, however, wake up for the fire alarm that went off in our building at 8:14. You wouldn't think I would be able to sleep through an earthquake but not a fire alarm, but you'd understand if you've ever heard the fire alarms in my building. They're awful. You would have to be severely, severely deaf and blind to miss them.

And that is everything that happened to me today. Oh, and I finished my math homework.
