No fires in the area, I hope? I never look forward to cold weather. Not even this summer in the 130 degrees on the roof. Some day when I'm old and wearing a purple hat I'm going to move somewhere warm. Tahiti would be nice.
I had thought I might move to Florida - I always enjoyed it when I went to visit my mom. But she's moved back up here now, so no reasons to visit, and I see how hard it's been for her to be so far away from her family for so many years. That's probably the main reason I've never moved out of Michigan. I just have to persuade all the people I am related to to come with me to a warm climate, and I'm off.
Last night it went down to 31. We had to put plastic over the (remains of the) garden so all those green tomatoes won't freeze. I had to scrape the car windows this morning. I spent a very uncomfortable night because I couldn't regulate the temperature properly - the bed was too warm and the air was too cold, and I couldn't figure out how to place blankets. (It's a heated waterbed) Well the other reason I couldn't sleep was the disastrous baseball game that didn't end until 1 am, but that's another story.

We're now in the fourth of our four hot months of the year, and I look forward to cooler weather.

What fun to imagine you in a purple straw hat, relaxing on a Tahitian beach.
