Yum.

Things have been kind of slow up in here. I've been around alot, picked up a trip for extra hours for the very first time the other day.

Despite being around a lot, I don't feel I've gotten much done - which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I am, afterall, actually on vacation. The "being paid to do nothing" type. So perhaps I'm doing exactly what I'm supposed to be doing.

Trip to Hawaii for October's coming together quite nicely. As long as everything goes well with standby (knock on friggin' wood), we should be good to go. We'll be staying in this condo in Maui: http://www.homeaway.com/vacation-rental/p210058 For only $950 for the whole week. Two bedrooms, two baths, four people. Lovely. I'm really really excited. I do wish booking the condo had been left a little more to the last minute, but I'm not the one who booked it - so. Yeah. If the two who booked it don't get there in time because of standby, I'm the one who told them not to book it so far in advance. I warned.

Fall's here, and I can't say that makes me feel too bad after the amazing summer we've had. Besides, we've got at least one more heat wave left. We always do.

Guess it's time to start bidding hot destinations at work again, though. Little OGG up ins.

I'm hosting a party on Friday, which I haven't done in months and months. I'm pretty excited. The craziest thing I'm making is braised beef heart mini-sandwiches with blue cheese mousse. Then also a bunch of other things, as I do. No worries to anyone reading this who might be coming, there will be other things that don't involve beef heart. I'm just stoked to try using it.

I find that I don't buy meat unless it's priced to clear. Meaning it's about to go bad and will be thrown out imminently. I'd hate to have meat go to waste. So I buy it, freeze it, and find ways to work with whatever cut it is. Sometimes you luck out get and t-bones and tenderloins. Sometimes you end up with pork breast bones and beef heart. Learning time!

I'm off to pick up some groupon cheese for the party party.
