This is a random post about the recent episode of True Blood, and will only make sense to those familiar with Preacher, but what the hell.

not really spoilery, just a picture of a new character )

I just watched it and went insta-!!! when this guy showed up. Back when they were planning to make Preacher on HBO I was thinking Cassidy would be tough to cast if only because of the face, but this guy... it's like all he's missing is the gratuitous Irish accent. xD

And whoo to the Preacher love!! Man, I wish it had a fandom.

I think there was like one fic? I actually had Jesse/Cassidy as one of my requests. XD

I have yet to see the new episode, but it certainly does seem as if Cassidy was an influence in casting. Damn :)

And one of these days we really have to rectify that whole Preacher not having a fandom thing. I know plenty of people who love the comic, but the lack of fandom has always puzzled me.

I know, right? His face! He was only in this ep for about two minutes, but I was gleeful throughout. XD

The lack of fandom... could be just lack of organization, I suppose. I used to think it was a boys' club sorta thing, but there were a few requests on Yuletide (all of them were along the lines of Jesse/Cassidy/+Tulip xD)... If they ever do a movie, I'm sure a fandom will pop up, but I kinda dread the idea of a Preacher movie (I doubt it would work as anything other than a cable series/mini-series).

Just saw the episode XD Can't wait until next week!

There's usually a lack of fandom for Vertigo comics in general. The Hellblazer fandom is almost non-existent too.

A cable series would be cool and would definitely kick-start the fandom. I would dread it only because of the arguments that will arise from any sort of live action adaptation. I still get incredibly visceral reactions when I tell people that I thought Wanted was a good film. (I think it's kind of hilarious that the only people who agree with me are Garth and Millar.)

Well, fandom is pretty much built for stupid arguments (and porn, but we're talking negative aspects here :P), so I think that part is pretty inescapable either way.

I haven't actually read the original Wanted comic book so I can't really judge, but I found the movie pretty fun. But then I really dig the Pina Colada song. xD
