House of Cards

Sometimes something can happen in your life to make you realise how fragile and tenuous it all is.

One misunderstanding or miscommunication or exaggeration of the truth and everything could be over.

You can live what you think is a good life, make what you think are good decisions and believe you have hurt no one in your choices or experimentation. You might take small risks or skirt with danger but at the time you think you are almost certainly safe.

But sometimes that danger can become reality, and you can look around at all that you have and think, 'how will I start again if I lose all of this??'

I don't know what the lesson is. Never take risks and never challenge what is expected? Never go and see for yourself what all the fuss is about? Never step so close to the edge that you are almost within?

Or don't build a life on a house of cards that can be so easily destroyed by a mistaken wind?
