Pre-gameplay history: Yoko arrived in the Pokemon world about fifteen months ago, plopped down in Jubilife, Sinnoh. Following a panic attack (...or five) he collected himself and his three Pokemon, then went off to find a radio station. Do what you're good at, he figured. He didn't quite foresee exactly how popular Yokoyama You's Recomen would get--though of course he'll tell anyone in a five-mile radius that he totally knew, he's awesome, thanks. But being on the radio wasn't really what Yoko wanted to do. He preferred TV, and he made that known... during every single broadcast.
The offer to host a television show was like a dream come true. The fact that it's a food show is like Nirvana. Yoko--and his trio of gluttonous no-good food-stealing Pokemon--jump on the opportunity. It's only after he signs the contract that he gets to the downside--the show is in Unova.
Groaning, complaining and bitching for everyone to hear, he packs up and moves away, taking his radio show with him. Yoko currently lives in Mistralton City, but he travels to basically all of Unova for location shoots, with the studio itself in Nimbasa City. Radio show recordings are in Black City, so he's there pretty much every weekend. All in all, not a terrible life, Yoko figures.
