Fluri Drabble - Jealousy

Mar 30, 2014 03:54

This all started because Yuri was a jealous bastard. The dark-haired man knew this, reveled in it - most of the time. But this? Yuri couldn’t go another night dealing with this. Looking at the mirror, Yuri took a moment to actually think about what the hell he was doing. This was clearly not the brightest idea Yuri had ever had, but it was too late to turn back now. He had to know just what the hell Flynn was up to, had to see with his own eyes what sort of ridiculous wooing the blonde did while he was away.

Not actual wooing of course - it was all part of his job. Yuri trusted Flynn with his life and, more importantly (and this was more important) his heart. Anyone that knew Yuri Lowell knew that he was the most difficult man in the world to receive trust from. They also knew that childhood friend and lover - though lover was known only to a select few of their friends - Flynn Scifo would always be first and foremost on Yuri’s trust list. So trust was not an issue here. Yuri being unable to contain his jealousy was the issue.

Flynn worked at Lapis Lazuli, the hottest host club in the city, as one of the most sought after hosts. Women came from all over to check out the infamous club and their handsome blonde poster boy. When Flynn had first come to Yuri with the news of his job, Yuri thought it was a big joke. Flynn, who could hardly tell Yuri he loved him without stammering and blushing like a fool, out there showering women with false compliments and bravado. He didn’t think Flynn would last.

And he certainly didn’t expect Flynn to do as well as he was now. He was happy that Flynn was doing well with his job - really he was - but there were some things about it….well they didn’t sit well with Yuri.

He didn’t like the way Flynn’s clothes smelled of perfume when he’d come home at night, or the ridiculous amount of love letters and gifts the blonde came home with either.

But most of all?

Most of all, he didn’t like how Flynn could flawlessly - at least he was guessing so if he was so damn popular - pepper these women with sweet nothings but he still couldn’t do it with Yuri.

Wasn’t Yuri supposed to be the one Flynn could say these things to the easiest?

Having had enough, Yuri devised a plan. He was going to go to Lapis Lazuli and watch Flynn in action. Flynn had him promise when he’d started that Yuri never go there, and Yuri had agreed, figuring Flynn just didn’t want to see him embarrass himself. If Flynn saw him there, Yuri would be in serious trouble.

But that entailed Flynn seeing him there, so he was good at long as he didn’t get caught. Yea, he was spying, and he didn’t care. As Flynn left for the night, Yuri jumped from his spot on the couch and rushed to the bedroom, pulling out a box from underneath the bed.

Flynn couldn’t catch Yuri if Yuri were dressed like a woman. It was brilliant!

At the time anyways….

Yuri looked over himself, jet-black hair pulled back into a ponytail, side strands curled to bob as he moved his head, and he had to concede to understanding why people often mistook him for a woman. He wore modest purple eye shadow and ridiculously fruity scented lip gloss. But the best part? Oh man, the best part was the evening dress. Yuri was given shit on a regular basis for having a slender frame. It wasn’t his fault that no matter what he did he retained lean muscle tone. The long, black dress made of chiffon not only had a sweep train, but held a small side split (but not too high to give himself away - as he made sure) and three quarter sleeves. For the most part it was a rather conservative dress, enough to hide Yuri’s identity but clearly left room for imagination.

The most difficult part about all of this (because Yuri didn’t see any particular issues with the rest of cross-dressing…) was the heels. After he put them on he spent several minutes trying to figure out how to stand up straight, then several more trying to walk around without falling over and killing himself.

“Man, these things are tougher than they look. No wonder Judith gets so pissed off wearing them all the time.” Yuri muttered under his breath. Practicing until he was satisfied, Yuri flicked off the lights to the apartment and smirked, ready to begin a night of reconnaissance.

~

“Welcome to Lapis Lazuli! Would you like to be joined by a specific host or shall we surprise you?” the man Yuri spoke to was overly energetic and all too eager to serve the wishes of the guests. If he had to give them props, it was for making people feel comfortable…if they were women.

Which he was right now.

Yuri coughed gently and mustered his best female voice, which he kept as quiet as possible. “Surprise me. Would you mind if I sat over there while I waited?”

“Absolutely, make yourself at home!”

It wasn’t hard for Yuri to pinpoint where Flynn was, as he was sitting on a large sofa in the middle of the host club, droves of women surrounding him. The blonde was donned in a white suit complimented nicely with a blue and black tie. One of the women next to him was all but throwing themselves on his arm, giggling and blushing at every little thing he said.

It was enough to make Yuri blow this whole mission and march right over.

But he kept his cool, instead sitting somewhere nearby so he could remain within earshot but out of Flynn’s immediate sight.

“Flynn did you like those cookies that I made for you last time?”

“To be honest I’m not one for sweets, so I ended up sharing some with my roommate, I hope that was okay.” The blonde replies. Yuri twitches in his seat.

Oh, so I’m just a roommate to you here huh?

“Awww…well that’s okay. I just wanted to make something for you. Are you good in the kitchen Flynn?” this woman had to be one of Flynn’s regulars, especially if she was speaking on such friendly terms with him.

Yuri was not enjoying this one bit. But he couldn’t help but snicker under his breath at the woman’s question. Oh man, if you only knew how terrible he was….

“Unfortunately no. I try my best but turns out I’m just no good when it comes to cooking. If it weren’t for my roommate, I’d be in serious trouble.” The women around him all let out squeals and ‘awww you poor thing!’

Now it wasn’t the fact the Flynn was still referring to Yuri as just a roommate that was bothering him…but the way he was being so honest with these women. It could just be Flynn’s tactic as a host but…

“Sorry to have kept you waiting honey.”

Yuri’s thoughts are cut off as he’s joined by another member of the host club. Yuri doesn’t know much about this man, as Flynn doesn’t talk about his job much, but Flynn has told him that the man ‘with the long red hair was trouble’.

Greaaaat this is just karma coming back to bite me in the ass…the raven-haired man thought to himself.

“Ya gotta name beautiful? Or should I guess?”

Yuri let out a scoff, enough of a pause to remind himself that he was a woman right now and he was on a mission.

Otherwise he would kindly tell the man to fuck off.

“I doubt you could guess.” Yuri challenged, not bothering to hide the smirk.

“Ooooh fiery this one is…I think we’ll have a lot of fun.”

I don’t think so….thinks Yuri, before diving in to the conversation. “Really?” he giggles, casting a playful glance the other man’s way. Inside his stomach is rolling, but he has to keep this up if he doesn’t want to get found out. By this guy or Flynn.

“Sure hunny. The ones with spunk are hard to find anymore. But you’re a quiet one too. My guess is you’ve got a lot more there then you want me to know.”

Yuri nearly flinches. This guy’s observant…

“So tell me about yourself darlin’. Why’d you come here tonight? You’d have no trouble finding someone with your looks.”

Reaaaaally don’t want to talk about this…Yuri thinks, his rock of resolve starting to crumble under the entourage of questions from the red-head. “Just like a little company now and then, without the baggage.” He answers, noticing the way the man’s eyes follow Yuri’s leg as it crosses over his other leg. “But what about you? These kinds of thing make you happy?”

The red head’s smile takes Yuri aback. “Does it make me happy? Hunny, lemme tell you…”

~

He’s not sure how long he’s sat there listening to the red-head talk, but it feels like forever. Good God this guy is long winded…

To make matters worse, somewhere in the conversation, another host had sat down to join them. He’s blonde, with longer hair than Flynn and slenderer brown eyes. He introduces himself as Richard and proves to be better company than the other fellow, who he has come to know as Zelos.

Flynn’s group has lost many of the original girls but the spots are not empty for long before someone else has come to fill the void.

“Flynn, what would you say is my best trait?”

“I would have to say your smile. It certainly knows how to light up the room.”

Wow! Are you kidding me?! Yuri screams inwardly, fists clenching at his dress. Flynn would never say shit like that at home! Granted…Yuri would never ask Flynn to pick out his best trait - because Flynn would no doubt list an incredibly long list of bad traits first - but he didn’t honestly expect the blonde to come up with something so incredibly cheesy! And with a straight face no less!

“I see our Princess has taken an interest in Flynn as well…” Richard observes, and it’s there that Yuri realizes he’s been staring at the other group for some time now. Flustered, Yuri turns to look at his company.

“N-no, I just…”

“Figures, Flynn always gets the good ones. Guess that innocent charm of his is more powerful than I’ve given credit for.” Zelos says with a pout.

“I wouldn’t get your hopes up. Turns out Flynn’s already quite involved with someone. His childhood friend from what I hear.” The blonde explains. Yuri scoffs.

“If that were the case how can he sit there and sweet talk other women?”

“It’s all about telling them what they want to hear.” Richard answers. Zelos shoots Richard a look. “Hey! Why are you telling her all of this?”

“Why indeed….” Is all Richard says. From the gleam in his eyes, however, Yuri knows that the man is up to something.

The group behind them erupts into laughter and Yuri’s had enough. He stands up and glares daggers at all of the girls that have hopelessly latched on to the blonde. HIS blonde.

“Do you mind?! The rest of us are trying to have a good time as well. “He shoots, amazed that he has enough conscious mind to continue speaking with a feminine tone….as much as he would like to explode and shout as himself. He doesn’t look directly at Flynn in fear of being found out, but he can tell the blonde is just as surprised as the women around him. Taking a breath in the form of a huff, Yuri flips at his ponytail and turns around, only to come face to face with Richard.

“How about I escort you out? Some fresh air will probably do you some good.”

Deciding that staying any longer would undoubtedly get Flynn and himself in trouble; (because Yuri would flip out and ultimately get discovered) Yuri only nods in agreement.

Stepping out into the cool night, Yuri shivers a bit but welcomes the chilled air that quickly quells his anger, leaning against the side of the building. Richard stands next to him, silently for several moments, before speaking up.

“How do you know Flynn?” he asks. Yuri jumps a bit, startled at the man’s perceptive guess.

“Wha-“

“I notice a lot of women take a quick interest to Flynn, but you were border-lining homicidal in there. Clearly you know him. At least enough to get jealous of him being sweet on them. “

“Any person with dignity would get upset over how ridiculously he was talking with them. “

Richard turns his head to look at Yuri. “But that’s what a host club is all about. Telling women what they want to hear, to help make them feel good. If you’re not into sweet nothings, then why did you come here?”

“I…” Yuri knows he has to be careful with what he says, because Richard is a hell of a lot sharper than he’s letting on.

“Although, I can’t say I don’t like a woman who wants to keep things real. It’s a refreshing change to be honest. If Flynn didn’t already have this special someone already, he couldn’t go wrong with you either.”

Yuri can’t stop the blush that creeps across his face, though he’ll blame it on the cold night breeze if Richard inquires about it. He felt rather petty right now, getting mad at Flynn over this. After all, the kind words Flynn may say could be nice, and what they want to hear, but he doesn’t mean them with all of his heart. Not the way he does when he tells Yuri he loves him, or that he would be seriously lost without his home cooking. Could that…be why the blonde always got so embarrassed? Because those were his real feelings? In the end…didn’t that make Flynn more endearing to Yuri anyways? That shy, but pure honesty?

Damnit…what was he doing here? It all seemed so meaningless now…He never expected to come to this answer through someone Flynn worked with.

A hand to his chin makes Yuri flinch, eyes darting up in time to see deep brown eyes coming in closer before he realizes-

Shit, he’s going to kiss me

“Richard!”

The blonde backs away from Yuri, feigning shock. “Flynn? What are you doing out here?”

“I’m not feeling well so I will be going home. Please take over my clients for me.”

“That’s all well and good but I have a client of my own here.” Richard replies with a smirk. There’s a flash of an emotion that passes through Flynn’s eyes but Yuri can’t figure out what it is. Do Richard and Flynn not get along?

Flynn’s glare is enough to make Yuri flinch on any given day, but it doesn’t appear to faze Richard. “I suppose I can call it an early night and assist you then. But you owe me.” Richard turns back to Yuri. “I certainly enjoyed our time together. Please, do come again Princess.” He blows Yuri a kiss and saunters back inside.

There is a long….so very long - pause between Yuri and Flynn before the blonde opens his mouth. “…What are you doing here Yuri? I thought you promised you wouldn’t come to my job.” The look on Yuri’s face must have been shock because Flynn lets out a scoff “Please, I could tell it was you the second you glared at those women.” The tone the blonde takes on does little to mask the anger in his voice, almost like a parent scolding a child.

But Yuri is no child.

“Forget about that! You didn’t want me to come so I wouldn’t see you with a dozen women on each arm?! What the hell was that Flynn?! Do you enjoy that?? Is that what this is?!”

“No!”

“You sure seemed fucking happy to me! If you enjoy women fawning over you like a damn fool then why the hell are you with me?” The jealousy that Yuri tried to push back is coming forth full force now, and he knows when he gets like this…he tends to say things he’ll deeply regret later on, but he’s come too far now, pushed to the point of no return. Fuck it, Flynn can hate him if it makes him happy, but he has to get this off his chest. It’s bad enough Yuri spent every day wondering just what the hell Flynn saw in him, but watching him smile and laugh and say cute things to someone else makes him think maybe…Flynn didn’t want this as much as Yuri did.

“Yuri…”

“Forget it, I’m going home.” The raven-haired man stops when he realizes he put his keys in the small hand purse he’d brought with him…and that was still inside. Flynn pulls out his keys from his jacket. “Guess you’ll be riding with me.”

The car ride is eerily quiet, as Flynn doesn’t speak and Yuri’s too busy being pissed off, arms crossed and eyes staring out the window. He didn’t want to get mad like he did, but he wasn’t going to take back what he said either. The more he thought about it, the more absurd it was that Flynn would even work in a place like a host club in the first place. Unless…he really did prefer women and this was an escape from his commitment to Yuri?

They don’t speak on the elevator ride up, or when Flynn opens the door to the apartment. It isn’t until Yuri’s about to storm off into the bedroom to change that Flynn stops him, grabbing on to his arm.

“Damnit let me go!” Yuri shouts, fist clenched to punch Flynn if he needed to.

“No, you need to calm down and talk to me! You’re acting like a child!”

“I’m acting like a child?! Are you fucking serious?” comes Yuri’s bewildered inquiry.

“Yes! You knew what would happen if you went in there, and you did it anyways! Always looking for trouble! Being jealous isn’t going to help anything!” Flynn shouts, struggling to maintain his hold on Yuri’s arm. The dark-haired man may not have a stockier build than Flynn, but he was a hell of a lot stronger when he needed to be.

“You don’t think I have a right to be jealous! Knowing you go there every night and these women all but throw themselves at you?! Actually having to listen to you talk to them like they fucking mean something?! When you can’t even look me in the damn eye and say you love me without getting embarrassed?!” Yuri jerks his arm forcefully, freeing himself from Flynn’s grip. However he doesn’t back away from this, instead glaring angrily at the blonde. “You’re stupid if you didn’t think I would take any of this the wrong way.”

“That’s…” Flynn starts, but Yuri isn’t going to let him get anything in this time. “That’s because you’re not comfortable with it right? Because it’s not true.”

“No! That’s not what I meant!”

“I don’t need affirmations about your trust Flynn. I know you don’t go there to cheat on me. And I don’t need you to shower me with fake compliments like you do with them.” Yuri continues, not listening to Flynn’s protests. “But how the hell am I supposed to feel when I see that? I’m supposed to be okay with someone who tells me he loves me to come home smelling like perfume? Look so completely natural when a woman is wrapped around his arm?”

“That’s why I didn’t want you to go!” Flynn shouts back, finally fed up with his lack of participation in this argument. “I didn’t want you to see the kind of person I had to become to do this! The last thing I’d ever want is for you to start doubting your self-worth again! But you broke your promise and you went! You had to see the worst side of me…” Flynn trails off, surprising the dark-haired man.

The worst side of me…

As angry as he was, those words halted Yuri from saying anything more on the subject. He knew better than anyone what it was like - that desire to keep the one you care about most from seeing the worst in you.

“Okay, then explain why you refer to me as your ‘roommate’ huh?” he’s grasping at straws now, knowing nothing better than to keep up the struggle long after he’s lost. It’s a stubborn trait that makes Flynn want to hit his head against the wall.

“If I told them I was dating someone, especially my roommate, they might try to find out who you are. Most of the women that come to the host club are harmless; they just want someone to make them feel special. But you never know when they might try to take things too far. I don’t want them trying to bother you. “

And there’s that stupid altruism that makes Yuri’s heart race in both anxiety and excitement. No matter how many times Yuri tells Flynn he can take care of himself (and Flynn knows damn well that he can), he still insists on watching the other man’s back.

“Damnit Flynn…” deflated, Yuri slumped down on the arm of the couch. “I don’t think any less of you for these things…if anything, I think you’re brave as hell for dealing with hormonal women all night long…” he hears Flynn chuckle despite himself. “Just….” He looks away to hide the blush on his face. “Just don’t make it seem like a chore to share your feelings with me, and then go flawlessly shower someone else with compliments.”

“You know that I don’t mean those the way I do with you…” Flynn tries to explain. There is a part of him that feels the deep pang of guilt however; he doesn’t mean to put Yuri through these feelings. Not after everything they have been through to be together like this. “That’s why it’s easy for me to do it with them…because I don’t feel anything remotely close to what I feel for you….”

Yuri looks over and sure enough….the blonde is beat red. God damnit that face is just too cute…

“If you really hate it so much I’ll quit. I had the feeling it would come to this someday.” Flynn compromises. The money is good but it’s not worth all of this. He can’t stand seeing Yuri’s eyebrows etch in concern when he catches the smell of his clothes at night, or the prolonged sigh Yuri emits when Flynn calls him and tells him he’ll be staying late. Hell, if Yuri is dressing as a woman just to make sure nothing is going on…then things are much worse than he thought.

“No…don’t quit.” Yuri mumbles after some time. Flynn blinks in confusion. “What?”

“I said don’t quit.” Yuri speaks up, moving to stand before Flynn. He rests his forehead on the other man’s shoulder. Flynn’s arms rise to wrap around Yuri, drawing him in close.

“I don’t get it…what changed your mind?” the blonde asks. Yuri’s quick to forgive and forget when the situation called for it…but that was a little too easy.

“Call it cruel…but now I enjoy the thought of you toying with these women’s hearts and emotions on a nightly basis.”

“Yuri…” Flynn scolds, shaking his head at the way Yuri’s shoulders shake with laughter. The dark-haired man pulls back and shoots Flynn a big, stupidly devious grin, mirth shining in his eyes.

That’s fair; two can play at this game.

“I love you Yuri. More than anyone else…I hope you know that.”

The grin disappears and exactly as Flynn predicts, Yuri’s cheeks turn bright red. You really ought to be careful what you wish for Yuri.

“O-of course I do…stupid.”

Flynn beams. If this is the reaction he was going to get every time he said something sweet to Yuri…he would be doing this more often. Looks like I’ve found a secret weapon.

“By the way Yuri…where did you get the outfit?”

To his dismay Yuri realizes he’s still in the evening dress with makeup on his face. He groans. “Can we not talk about this? I look ridiculous…” He takes a step back to rid himself of his no-longer disguise, but a firm hand grabs his arm and pulls him back, forcing him to make eye contact with Flynn.

“I think it suits you quite nicely.” Yuri’s lips captured by the blonde’s in a heated kiss, and he finds himself returning it with equal vigor despite himself. When he pulls back, Flynn licks his lips.

“Is that strawberry lip gloss?” he asks.

Yuri glares, determined not to justify that with an answer. He doesn’t have the chance to escape before Flynn overtakes his lips once again, a smug, victorious smirk on his face when he nods and says “Yep, definitely strawberry. You know…” he trails off, but Yuri knows where the hell this is going and adamantly refuses to entertain the thought.

“Okay I enjoy a lot of kinky things Flynn, but this is not going to become one of them.”

“Awww, come on Yuri…” Flynn pouts as Yuri starts to saunter….saunter? Yep…he was definitely sauntering. Damn him for having hips like those….Drawn like a magnet, Flynn follows Yuri to their room and watches as Yuri wipes the makeup from his face.

“Nope, I had enough roleplaying when I was at the host club. Between getting hit on by Zelos and seduced by Richard, I’m done pretending to be a woman.”

“….Richard seduced you?” Flynn felt something spark in the back of his mind.

“Well he is a host just like you. If you hadn’t come outside when you had he would have kissed me.” Yuri explains, unzipping the back of his dress.

“You didn’t even try to stop him?” Flynn inquires, the spark turning into something a lot more dangerous. He knows what this is starting to become, and when it’s Flynn’s turn to feel this way….it’s not pretty.

“I didn’t know he was going to do that!” Yuri defends, tossing the dress to the floor and looking for a pair of pants.

“With how you looked how could you think you were safe?!” the blonde explodes. “Better yet, how can you think nothing of the way they were pampering and oogling you??!”

Half-dressed and working on his hair, Yuri stops and looks at Flynn, eyes furrowed in confusion. “Are you…jealous Flynn??” There is a manipulative smirk that he keeps contained at the way Flynn’s eyes flash and Yuri is pushed back onto their bed, the blonde hovering over him as he joins Yuri.

“I’m the only one that is allowed to do such things. I will be having a very long discussion with Richard tomorrow…” he answers darkly. Yuri shudders pleasantly at the look in his lover’s eyes.

“Well that’s tomorrow…tonight should be reserved for much better things.” He implies not-so-subtly, tugging at Flynn’s tie and freeing it from around his neck. By this point, Flynn is more than ready to take Yuri up on his offer, and let’s himself get caught up in the moment.

Yuri can’t stand the thought of being jealous himself, but Flynn?

It looks damn good on Flynn.
